The owner of the company coerced me into making a deposit for a job the same day he gave me a quote. He said that he guaranteed that he will give me my deposit back if the job doesn't go through, he also wrote it on the contract and I recorded him saying this. I decided to move on with another company and I am no longer able to get a hold of him regarding my deposit. I told him that I will not use him for the job and he said again he will send me a check over for my deposit but that never happened. He uses very coercive business tactics to potential customers.

Royal Construction was contracted to replace 7 steel lintels in a masonry wall. Workmanship of subcontractors was fair. Royal's operator was duplicitous when scoping the job; he considered a single 3-lite window as having 3 lintels, where clearly only a single steel angle was needed - resulting in a scope reduction which was significantly advantageous to the contractor. Royal Construction failed to install caulking between new lintels and existing window flashing, and while erroneously insisting that it "wasn't necessary", promised to return to complete the caulking. Following payment in full of contractor's invoice, he never made arrangements to complete the caulking despite repeated requests. Contractor's agreements and job specifications were vague and misleading, and not because of a lack of experience.

I hired Royal Construction / *************************** to do exterior trim work on my home in September of 2021. We signed a contract and I paid him $1900 and he promised to start work promptly. No work began on the home even after several months and several phone calls where **** promised to have guys out "next week". Finally, I had to tell him that if he would not come out the following week I would have to either take him to court or do something to get back my $1900. Finally, THREE weeks later (by now this was December) he came with a crew of men and by this time it was getting cold and they did about 1/5 of the work (first floor level) and left and never came back and never called. I reached out to discuss when they were coming back and to discuss several issues with their quality of work but got nothing. I chalked it up to a $1900 loss and decided to give up. Then out of the blue (June 23rd) I come outside to find men pounding on my house and men working at very high levels on ladders that were set up in an unsafe manner. I called my wife so that she could come home from work to discuss the errors and she asked them to stop working because they had damaged our home and she called **** and asked that he provide proof of insurance coverage. A couple of the workers smelled like alcohol and she did not know if it was from the night before or that day but knew that it would be a mistake to have them working at such heights with makeshift "scaffolding" using ladders. My wife called **** to discuss all of this and he stated he doesn't have to provide proof of insurance and said he would not do it. He said he would rather put a lien on our home than provide proof of insurance. The work is shoddy and his workers damaged our home in the process. We would like our $1900 deposit back but know that it is probably a lost cause. I paid the four workers $100 cash each out of my own pocket for their time - because sadly I think **** did not pay any of them a dime of the deposit.
