    This landlord charged tenants for normal wear and tear in disguise of damage. They didn't refund our security deposit and charged extra for normal carpet wear and tear. Regular wear and tear refers to deterioration within the property that happens due to regular use. As long as the deterioration happened without the tenant's negligence, carelessness, or abuse, it counts as regular wear and tear.All properties in ******** are expected to get damaged as the years pass. Some of these damages include loose handles, fading paint, stained fixtures, dirty grout, and ******* these cases, landlords cannot use the security deposit funds to pay for these damages, as they weren't the tenant's fault.

    I moved out a month ago. I left the *********** refused a walk through. They 4 times increased Utilities. They keep increasing the amount owed although I called & talk to ***, Apartment Manager several times. They were overpaid.

    I spoke to ***, apartment manager on the 7th and a week prior. On June 1, 2024 and in email I called twice to do walk through but no answer. *** told me Id get my Security Deposit back at walk through instead there are false charges on my account.

    Hi,This is *******************. I was looking for an apartment on December 2022 and decided to move in on Jan 3rd 2023.When I visited Briarwood Terrace apartments, the agent told me that the apartments are very clean and safe. She also urged me to submit an application online since she told me that the apartment was the only one available and will be gone soon. After I submitted the application and paid the application fee (total $300) on December 20th 2022, I checked the ****** reviews and found that there are mice and roaches in apartments. Previous and current tenants posted the photos and comments. I was extremely stressed when I saw photos of mice and roaches. I got anxiety and nightmares in the next few days. I still feel uncomfortable when I am reminded of the photos. However, the website ************************************************************** and the agent gave me the information that the apartment is nice and clean. This is misleading and fraudulent information. Thus, I contacted with agent of Briarwood Terrace apartments and tried to ask for refund. The agent told me that the application fee was not refundable. Then, I contacted with my credit card company (Amex) and asked Amex to help me. Finally, **** helped me to charge back the money. However, Briarwood Terrace apartments is trying to collect this bill via ************************** which is a debt collector company. The ************************** mailed a bill $405 to my address.This is my worst rent experience so far. Can you please help me?Thanks,****
