This Company agreed to provide competent expert home improvement services to install 1 bathroom and update a second. The contract was signed in July 2024. I heard nothing from them until I contacted them asking for the contract to be terminated based on the fact of them destroying my families home. I am a disabled veteran with limited funds and I can't take no chances on this Company destroying my home like they did my family member. There's been no work done at all on my home, the architecture drawings aren't completed nor has there been any financing agreed upon. I asked what is taking so long to start they're only reply was they're busy. I feel like this company is practicing predatory practices towards me as a disabled veteran. I've already put a 1000 dollars down payment that im not asking back as a refund. I just want this predatory contract terminated. I've been emailing and calling and they've been stalling. I have proof of the horrible job they did on my sister's home. I believe they've breached our contract due to my proof of them not being competent in this field by how they destroyed my sister's home. She can no longer live in her home and I'm scared they will do the same to me.Business response

Mrs. Poole signed a contract with us on July 10, 2024. However, we first met her on February 16, 2024, after she called our office and requested a free estimate. After we provided her with an estimate, we communicated with her several times and gave her different estimates until she was finally ready to move forward. She came into our office to sign the contract on July 10, 2024.
We signed a contract with Mrs. Hamilton, Mrs. Poole's sister, on November 16, 2023, to build a new second-floor addition. We started building her new addition in July 2024, and unfortunately, due to the severe storm we had, she had water damage on July 14. Mrs. Hamilton understands this was out of our control. The insurance company handles all the damage, and Mrs. Hamilton is happy with our work.
Mrs. Poole signed the contract a few days before Mrs. Hamilton had the weather damage; if she was unhappy with us or did not trust our company, she should have called us immediately, but she never did. On August 5, 2024, she met with our architect at her house with an appointment. As soon as we received the preliminary drawings from the architect, we scheduled an appointment and took them to her for review; she requested a few changes, some of which were additional costs because it was not part of our original contract.
Mrs. Poole expressed that she wanted to cancel on September 26, 2024. We have informed her that there are provisions to the contract. Attached is a copy of the front and back of the contract and the preliminary drawings the architect prepared. Please let us know if you need additional information.

I am rejecting this response because: They destroyed my sister's home. Once I found out and was able to see the damage I called text and emailed the company with my concerns. I even offered to pay 2000 to end the contract. It wasn't the weather that destroyed her home it was the negligence of the Contractors they hired to work on her home. As previously stated I am a disabled veteran who can not afford to chance this company or their Contractor destroying my home like they did my sister's. The lapse in time was because they were "busy" per Ron the person who is responsible for Contractor and workers. They literally weren't calling me about doing anything until I reached out to them. So they were not ready to do anything for me. They haven't done anything past sending out the architect after I asked about it. I'm asking them to end the contract with the agreed upon 2000 dollars. I'm a disabled veteran how can I pay 33% for no work done to an incompetent and negligent company and still have to still get my home done elsewhere. I hope they will agree to 2000 as this is all I can afford to pay. THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO MY HOME. THEY HAVE DESTROYED MY SISTERS HOME and are unapologetic with no accountability. I can't, in good sound mind trust this company. This is why I believe they're preying on me as a disabled veteran. I've tried to appeal to this company and they even agree if they were in this position they wouldn't hire the company that did it to their family yet they are expecting me to trust them after they destroyed my sister's home.
Sincerely,

Complaint: 22393452
I am rejecting this response because: The settlement was not due to being satisfied with outcome. It was definitely due to being very afraid of this company and it's tactics of lying and strong arming female customers. I've never been afraid of a business before but the language and implications of what i felt would be done to me or my sister were clear. The business tactics of this company is very deceptive and predatory. They literally charged me 5000.00 and they did absolutely nothing. So I'm glad this mob style interaction is over but I hope no one else gets preyed on by this company. They have my address and personal information and I'm praying this doesn't turn into a Fl v Binderim case.

My husband and i did not place a complaint as we were advised that someone would come out to correctly install the stack pipe that was not installed at the time of construction completion. Foul sewer smells started filling up our basement as the weather became cold, my husband contacted ****************************** they sent someone out. He placed a pipe through the basement wall illegally as a solution which is not a solution at all. Foul smells are is a problem in the basement. $2,000.00 initial down payment. Initial contract agreement, $67,900.00. $20,000.00 was added because the demolition person took down a wall he was not to take down. I argued the issue but to no avail i was still charged the fee. Asked how $87,900.00 turned into $91,658.96 with ******* Financial I never received an explanation.Currently with ************************. $72,251.57. My husband and I have contacted plumbing companies which are reluctant to take our business with the exception of Four Seasons. There price to correct or install a stack pipe after construction is well above what we can afford presently.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: Father & Son's sold my husband a contract agreement, purposely over demoed the upper level of our home, then added a change order to fix with the charge of $18,300.00. With our upper level of our house exposed to the elements we pleaded with Fathers & Son's the this additional cost was unfair. The weather had changed, we were getting rain and snow mixed onto the open demoed area of our home with water damaging the first floor ceilings. With that being said and no other recourse we signed the change other. As far as the cement siding, why would you add that to a contract knowing that the ******* or ******** code is to use cement siding and not vinyl siding. Bait and switch tactic because there were multiple home Father & Son's were working on simultaneously in my zip code area. My husband and I are contesting the charges for the December ************************ the February 2018 extra tile allowance of $334.03. We are still requesting that Father & Son's complete the stack pipe that they neglected to install during construction. If there was a good faith effort to correct the uninstalled stack pipe the plumber who came out to correct the missing stack pipe would not have illegally installed a pipe out the side of the wall. The fact that Father & Son's sold our mortgage to another lender m does not change the fact that the original charge of $18,300.00 should be refunded by to ****** and ****************************** Our address is still the same. Lastly, we look forward to the visit from the 3 plumber or Father & Son's representative. Just want a stack pipe installed correctly with a start date of installation, the name of the representative that will complete the work and the time frame the work will be completedSincerely,

Dear Mr. ***** *********************,
We appreciate you contacting us; however, we cannot refund you. The work at your home was completed in March 2018. If you were not happy with us, why did you let us proceed with the work and let us complete it?
******************** signed both change orders for the additional work and agreed to the additional cost, and all the work was completed.
The original contract was for one bedroom and bathroom and vinyl siding installation. The change order was to remodel your front attic and install cement siding. The *************** requested cement siding due to the special conditions of your home. Your lender paid the extra cost. Attached is a copy of the contract and change order.
The change order for the electric was to upgrade your existing panel and the additional cost of $334.03 was the amount over the allowance for your ceramic tile. The allowance was $2.00 per sq. ft.
We explained these two charges to you, and you issued a check to us for the additional cost.
Your job has been completed for almost six years. We are amazed to receive this complaint from you after the work has been completed and you agreed to all the additional work performed on your home.
Regarding your loan, please contact your lender; you never had a loan with us.
Kindly contact our project manager, ******, at ************ to schedule an appointment with the plumber. ****** spoke with your husband yesterday, and he informed ****** that he would contact us to schedule an appointment. After the plumber inspects the property, we can provide you with a schedule to extend the kitchen vent pipe.
Thank you for contacting us. We hope we have answered all your concerns; we will take care of your kitchen vent as soon as possible.Customer response

Complaint: 21108898
I am rejecting this response because: You can refund the $18,300.00, the change order for additional work was after your worker completely demolished our upper level of our home without written consent from neither of us. The original contract as stated by you was only for one bedroom and bathroom and vinyl siding installation not to remodel our front attic, we specially informed your project manager prior to demolition started. The fact the you hired personnel who clearly did not follow instructions should not be me nor my husbands financial burden. The order was signed under duress as my husband and I had no other recourse but to continue with your company to complete the work and to avoid a property lien. You also knew from experience that no other company would take on the job after permits were pulled and contract's were signed. To answer your question if we were not happy with Father & ***'s why did we let your company proceed with the work until completion. Well let me answer that for you. First of all our entire upper level was torn completely off exposed to inclement weather, cold and wet rain mixed with snow. Your construction crew nor your project manager ordered did not have the wherewithal to cover the exposed are with a tarp or some kind of covering which lead to ceiling damage on the lower area of our home.
Also, over the course of six years my husband has been in contact with the original project manager, the second project manager after your first project manager was fired and for the last couple of years your office manager *********** Over the six years my husband and i have been promised corrective action and are stilling waiting for that to occur.
The vinyl tile situation is on you or your company as you knew what the *************** required for my type of home as you began to pull permit's prior to construction in 2016, that should be apart of planning on you part and should not be charged to your customers due to your lack of planning,.
The refund should come from Father's & Son's and not the lender ******* Financial at the time because the charge was originated with Father's & ***'s not the lender. Also ******* Financial did not take care of monies as you stated, plus we were advised by the owner of Father's & Son's or the sales man that came to our home who also signed the original contract that Father' & Son's owned ******* Financial so not to worry about getting the loan.
I am asking the you pull a permit from the *************** for the work that will be completed by ****** or whomever you designate to complete the work. We want a guarantee that this time the work is done correctly as it was not correctly done at the completion of construction. Lastly, have ****** or whomever is designated to remove the illegally installed vent through our basement wall and properly seal the hole in the wall
Sincerely,
****** And *****************************Business response

Hello Mr. ***** *********************,
We informed you of all the additional work that had to be performed at your home, and we provided you with a written change order that you signed and agreed to the work and additional cost. Attached is a copy of the front and back of the contract and change orders.
Our work was completed in 2018, and this is the 1st time you have contacted us requesting a refund for a project that was completed almost six years ago.
Please review the following paragraphs:

I am rejecting this response because: This is the first time ever seeing The General Conditions of Contract that was never presented to my husband or myself as you know this to be a fact. All events stated actually happened as we stated which you are very aware of.Unscrupulous business practices of having a worker tearing down the front attic that was never agreed upon to be torn down and presenting it as a change order to us to cover your mistake with a charge of $18,300.00 is just plain unjust.
And please do not try to act as if my husband has never contacted your company until now. As previously stated my husband did his due diligence over the period of 6 year's, Father's & Son's neglected to do their's. We filed this complaint with the Better Business Bureau because we could not get your company to complete the work from the original construction date.
With that being said, we do look forward to the City Permit for the work that should have been completed before the end of construction work completed. Please have someone to contact us with an actual plan of action containing a start and time of completion date.
Sincerely,

We provided you with a copy of the general conditions of the Contract. This page is on the back of your original Contract.
A modification had to be made, as stated in our Contract.
9.0. CONTRACT MODIFICATIONS AND CHANGED ORDERS.
9.1. During the pendency of this Contract, the parties may agree to modify this Contract by changing the work to be performed or the materials to be provided. This may or may not include a change in the Contract Sum. All such modifications shall be by written Change Order signed by both Parties except as noted below.
9.1.1. If a modification is required on an emergency basis, the parties may agree to the same orally, in which case the Contractor shall be authorized to proceed, and the Owner agrees that the additional amount due the Contractor as a result of such modification shall be an additional sum due hereunder.
9.1.2. Any and all changes made necessary by building code, ordinances or statutes pertaining to the Premises shall be charged to the Owner and added to the amount due the Contractor.
We provided you with a change order, and you agree to the additional work and the cost to perform the work.
******************** contacted our office to inform us of the kitchen vent pipe.
We have never received a complaint from you or ******************* before regarding the cost of the project. It has been almost six years, and we do approximately 25 additions a year. We cannot recall precisely every detail of the project, but our notes show that ****, your superintend at the time, took to you the change order for review and approval; if you were not satisfied with the cost of the work, you should have negotiated the price before the work was completed. After all these years, you cannot ask us to refund you the money; the work was done, and the additional materials were purchased. We cannot refund you for the work that was performed. We have submitted a building permit request to the *************** this today; we are waiting for the plumber to submit additional information to the city. As soon as the permit is ready, we will contact you to schedule the work and discuss the plan with you and the completion date.

Complaint: 21108898
I am rejecting this response because: We agreed to the additional work and the cost to perform the work after I was told by *** that there was no other recourse even if though the complete demolition was a mistake, that in itself is an actual complaint. The fact that *** acknowledged the complaint and advised that the charge would stay whether I contested it or not should also be taken into consideration. As a customer we were being faced with no upper floor that is exposed to inclement weather rain and snow mixed, no tarp or plastic cover damaging the ceiling on the main floor of our house. Again you knew that we could not get other company to come in and continue the work that began with your company. Permits, blue prints, zoning, etc. took your company a year to clear before work could began. Again being placed in a situation like this and signing your Change Order occurred was under duress.
The fact that my husband contacted your office to inform you to inform you of the kitchen vent pipe is a complaint. So how could you state that you never received a complaint.
Over the course of almost six years, you should have sent someone out to correct or install the vent pipe instead of denying that we never reached out to you, which we did on more than one occasion.
Not recalling precisely every detail of a project because you do approximately 25 additions a year is lack of documentation of events on your part, and is not a defense. As i remember the details along with your replacement superintendent, ***** replacement, and **********; your office manager. The fact that that information was not shared with you is an internal problem and should not be used as a defense.
The notes that you state **** your superintendent were most likely fabricated as he was always missing in action or smell of alcohol when he finally showed up on site.
You forget that i did stated that i was not satisfied with the cost of the work, and I did speak to *** to negotiate the price before the work was completed. Again when you know that your customer does not have the choice of going with some other company because your company demolished the upper floor of their home, the only recourse is to sign a Change Order under protest which is considered duress.
After all these years, I can you ask us to refund you the money or a portion of if work has been completed, additional materials purchased in all.
You can also refund the actual amount or a portion of it as the complete demolition was not agreed upon, it was a decision made by and unsupervised worker, your worker, and not me or my husband.
Thank you for submitting a building permit request to the *************** today. We will be waiting for assignment of the plumber to submit additional information to the city.
Thank you for reaching out to us as soon as the permit is ready, and contacting us to schedule the work and discuss the plan with us along with the completion date.
Sincerely,
****** And *****************************Business response

Good morning, *********************,
This morning, we submitted the information the City requested; we will let you know as soon as the permit is ready.
The additional work performed at your home was to remodel your attic space and install the cement siding. We would have never left your home exposed to the elements. Every time we build an addition, we cover it with a tarp; if any damage is done to your home, we fix it. Attached are numerous customer satisfaction forms you signed throughout the job; for each customer satisfaction, you have the opportunity to address any complaints; you only had one complaint on 12/8/17; we took care of the issue, and the rest of the customer satisfaction, you had no complaints or dissatisfaction with our work.
As we mentioned, the only complaint we received from you is about the kitchen vent. ******************** called us in October 2022 to inform us that an HVAC company that worked at your home told him that the kitchen vent had to be extended through the roof. We guaranteed him that we would take care of it; unfortunately, we were short of men, and the plumber at that time was unavailable; now, we have a different plumber ready to start the work. We appreciate your patience.
Regarding the change order, you agreed and signed all the documents. We are not fabricating any documents, as you claim in your response. All the documents were reviewed, approved, and signed by you.
As stated in our contract:
Paragraph 9.1.1 of the back of the contract:
9.1.1. If a modification is required on an emergency basis, the parties may agree to the same orally, in which case the Contractor shall be authorized to proceed, and the Owner agrees that the additional amount due the Contractor as a result of such modification shall be an additional sum due hereunder.
We will contact you as soon as we have the building permit.Customer response

Complaint: 21108898
I am rejecting this response because: Thank you for starting the process of installing the vent pipe by starting with the permit. My husband and I are not contesting the work completed because we were and still is pleased with the work that was completed. ***** being my favorite contractor because he really was exceptional.
The issue or the complaint is nor was it ever about not being satisfied with all of the work performed, it has been only been about the forced Change order, it cost that was not absorbed by Father's & Son's instead it was $18,300.00 which is a lot of money charged to us.
The complaint was also about the missing vent pipe that was missed by your incompetent worker or contractor who was responsible it's install.
The customer satisfaction report documents do not negate (nullify) the fact that the signing of the Change Order was signed under duress because our roof was left completely exposed to inclement weather, you knew that we had no other options but to continue with the build.
So please don't insult my or my husbands intelligence by saying that your contractor' covered our roof, which they did not. The ceiling damage was taken care of by my husband, thank you for your lack of help.
Please refer back to my previous written statements or complaint concerning why we are seeking reimbursement of monies that was erroneously charged for a big, huge mistake by your unsupervised employee or contractor.
Sincerely,
****** And *****************************Business response

Hello, Mr. ***** *********************,
The *************** has issued the building permit for us to extend the kitchen vent pipe. Please let us know what day works better for you so we can schedule the work.
The plumber first has to open the wall to extend the kitchen vent pipe, and then we need to contact the City to request an inspection;depending on how busy the City is, this can take more than a week. After the City has inspected the work and approved the job, we will schedule our ********* to stop by your home and patch where the plumber made openings. The ****** superintendent will give you more information.
Regarding the refund, as we explained to you, there is no refund. We did nothing wrong; a modification had to be made; we provided you with a change order, you agreed to it, and we did the work.
We have attached a copy of the preliminary drawings you reviewed and approved after signing the contract. You agreed to the following:
Owner agrees that contractor shall not be responsible for minor deviations from the drawings and /or contract. Deviations may also be necessiated by Governmental approvals. There shall be no credit or decrease in contract price for such deviations.
Please contact our office or ****** directly to schedule an appointment.Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because: The original draft or floor plan confirm's signed 9/10/16 that the front attic was not included and not expected. I also confirm's that the front attic demolition *********************** not by your unsupervised worker forced a Change Order to occur. And as previously stated leaves homeowners or customers no other recourse but to sign it regardless of your verbiage within the second floor plan's.The clever statement included on the draft, Owner agrees that contractor shall not be responsible for minor deviations from the drawings and or contract. Speaks to my complaint that the front attic area demolition felt intentional on your part as it has most likely occurred with more than one customer or home owner, why else would it be added.
There shall be no credit or degrease in contract price for such deviations, it should state that mistakes on the behalf of our workers will not be charged to our customer or homeowners. Your mistake that cost us $18,300.00
Your company, your rules. Looking forward to ****** correctly removing the illegally installed vent pipe through our basement wall, correctly installing the new vent pipe moving forward.

Contract issue with Father and Son Home Improvement II.Here is what has happened in sequential order:1. Back in October 2021: Signed Contract with Father and Son Home Improvement II to add a garage, add a 2nd floor, replace the Roof, Add a Bay Window to livingroom. I gave thema $50,000 check as deposit.2. I was told that the permits would take from 3 to 5 months and then the house project would start right away.3. Father and Son Team including their assigned Architect(*****) have been having so many delays/issues getting these required city permits for my house project.4. After the 4th month(March 2022) from when I signed the contract, I've called father and son team on a weekly basis to get status and all I get is the same status... that they are waiting for the city to approve the needed permits.5. Five months later I had a phone conversation with ***(Owner) and he mentioned that it was my fault because I would not agree to some architural changes in the contract and the city would not approve it as originally designed... which I did not like(reducing the size of the 2nd floor). We finally agree that instead of reducing the 2nd floor it would be exted on the back of the house(same dimentions). I didn't like the new design but just get the city permits approved asap.... which turned out to be a lie because they are sitll having issues.6. Six months later(around 09/2022), I was still getting the same status from father and son... so I decided to go to ******* ******************* in person and they told me that the Application was cancelled due to "Father and Son and or the architect(*****)" have NOT replied back in more than 120Days. So I called father and son right away and they have a private meeting with their Architect.7. Architect re-applied for the same city permits... and I believe everything started from the beginning, again. this was back in October ******. As of August 2023, I'm still waiting for Father and Son to get the city permits.Business response

We understand ****************** is very frustrated and eager for us to start his project. We are also frustrated and eager to begin his work. We appreciate his patience and thank him for choosing our company to work in his home. Unfortunately, we cannot start the construction project without a building permit. The Architect, *****************************, has been working with the ***************, and because of the unique conditions of his house, it has been taking longer than we expected to obtain the building permit.
The architect informed us that the initial permit application expired as the design changes could not be agreed upon several revisions were made, including adding scope of work.
During the second permit application, the building department wanted the new permit drawings to include the owner's *******************, which the owner did not inform us of.
Currently, the architect is working with the ****************** Administrative Adjustment application was submitted to the ***************** due to the special conditions of the property. We have submitted notices to the adjacent neighbors and ********, pictures of every house on the block from both sides, a block site plan reflecting the side setback and front setback of each property, and recently, the ***************** requested a block site plan reflecting the rear setbacks of every property on the block the architect is still working on this. We will submit the drawings to the ***************** for review as soon as he completes the drawings.
Again, we want to thank ****************** for his patience, and we hope to obtain his building permit soon, so we can start his remodeling project. Attached is a copy of the Building Permit Application Status from the ***************.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: Father and Son has been using this excuse since about 1 1/2. It should be unacceptable to take 2 years just to get the city permits... if Father and Son can NOT comply with his contract agreement, they should just say it and so we can cancel this contract and I can find someone else to do the work. FYI: I am losing about $2000 / Month due having to pay bills for 2 houses until they complete the work on the house so I can move in it. The ******* ******************* keeps telling that they waiting for Architect to provide documents for city permits... currently, the task is with the architect since 7/21 with corrections to complete waiting for Architect. We need an ETA when Father and Son will be done with this project of house renovations so I can plan when where to move my family to.
Waiting almost 2 years is too long and Father and Son needs to be more responsible and at least provide an ETA when all work will be completed... it's been almost 2 years already and every month that passes by I'm losing about $2,000 paying bill for 2 houses... FYI: Currently that house at **** it's empty until Father and Son completes the work.
Please help me resolve this problem, I'm really desperate to find a resolution for this problem with Father and Son.
Sincerely,

We wish we could do more, but at this moment, the Architect is working with the ****************** We hope to obtain his building permit soon. We are eager to start his contraction project. Unfortunately, at this time, we can't give ****************** a starting date without a building permit. We will provide ****************** with a starting and completion date once the building permit is approved.
Attached is a copy of our contract, the front and back. Our contract states the following:
Contractor assumes no responsibility for any permit delays.
The Contractor is not responsible for any delays in obtaining the building permit, which are not directly attributable to acts or omissions by the Contractor.
We truly value ********************** patience, and as soon as we have his building permit, we will contact him.Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: Father and Son and their architect need to provide an estimated time when this project will start the actual work.... Waiting almost 2 years, just for work permits, it's unacceptable.

On June 16, 2022, I signed a contract with ***************************** Home Improvement to complete work on my garage and home. The work was not started until 11/25/22 and was not performed according to the contract. I notified all involved parties (verbally and in writing) at the start of the project on 11/25/22 (including ***************************** Home improvement and the 3rd party contractor) that the work was not performed according to the contract. I also notified the 3rd party contractor and ***************************** Home Improvement again on multiple occasions and requested resolution from Father and Sons Home improvement however they ignored my requests. As of today, ***************************** Home improvement has not and will not provide a resolution. I requested to speak with the owner of the company multiple times for resolution and have also been denied. I recently requested to speak with the owner of ***************************** Home improvement on 1/28/23 and was told that the owner WILL NOT follow up with my request for resolution and was additionally threatened and antagonized by ***************************** Home improvement and its 3rd party contractor. The 3rd party contractor has acknowledged he has not performed the work according to the contract and even with ***************************** Home improvement knowledge of the failure to comply with the full contract, they refuse to resolve the matter in an honest and fair manner. The following items were clearly listed in the contract and was not completed: 1. Re-frame opening for windows 2. Re-frame opening for service door 3. Remove OSB on walls and install it correctly. The company is aware that the tasks were not done and refuse to take accountability or resolve the matter. On 1/28/23, ***************************** Home improvement and its 3rd party contractor confirmed that the framework for the ************* and OSB around the garage was accurately installed prior to hiring ***************************** Home improvement however this contradicts my signed contract! This company is nothing but a scam!!Business response

Complaint: 18954694I am rejecting this response because:The building permit and passing of an inspection has nothing to do with this complaint!! The complaint is that you breached the contract by not completing all the work as clearly stated in the contract. Additionally, I've requested the payment be recalculated on multiple occasions both written and verbally for you to adjust the price for the work that you did not perform according to the contract and you have repeatedly ignored the request. Your agent and a witness was present at my home when your 3rd party contractor admitted on 1/28/23 that he did not complete several tasks in the contract. You breached the contract and fail to take responsibility in an honest manner! Instead, you've attempted to go around the topic of this complaint and have once again dismissed your failure to adhere to your contract. Please note the customer satisfaction document attached by Father & Sons Home Improvement is the 2nd customer satisfaction form and has been illegally falsified and altered without my knowledge.
Sincerely,

We want to close this account. We have invested a lot of time and money and have done nothing wrong. ****************** allegations that she did not sign the forms are false.
But again, we want to close this account and get paid for the work we performed, and we are willing to give her a $250.00 credit.
Contract price $6,500.00
Permit fees$179.00
payment received-$1,300.00
Credit-$250.00 (pending owners approval)
Balance due$5,129.00Thank you

Complaint: 18954694
I am rejecting this response because:A $250 credit is not a fair or reasonable compensation to address the several tasks that you did not complete as clearly stated in the contract.
Additionally, the original customer satisfaction form was altered after I signed it and provided it to the contractor. It is clearly evident as it's filled out in a different colored ink and the hand writing is vastly different. It is illegal and fraudulent to alter a document after it has been signed!!
Take accountability and operate your business in an honest manner! You did not complete several tasks in the contract, you have illegally altered the document uploaded and even with the proof you still won't take accountability!
I will not accept a $250 credit, my request is for a full refund!
Sincerely,

*************** finally answered our phone calls today. We have been trying to contact her to resolve this issue. We are willing and able to correct the items she is not satisfied with at no additional cost to her. However, this morning, she informed us that she did not need us to go back and correct the work that we performed and that our work was inspected and approved by the *******************. Therefore, we do not know what else we can do to resolve this issue. ************** is being unreasonable by requesting a full refund.
We are trying to work with **************, and if she is not satisfied with our work, we are more than willing to go back and correct it.
Per our contract Paragraph11.2. Owner Dissatisfaction. In the event Owner is in any matter dissatisfied with any aspect of the Contractor's performance hereunder, Owner shall so notify Contractor, in writing by registered mail, of such dissatisfaction within seven business days after the Owner knew, or should have known of any such dissatisfaction.
11.2.1 Contractor shall have seven business days from the date of its receipt of such notification in which to initiate efforts to resolve Owners concerns, whether by remedying the alleged defective work, providing a credit against the contract price, or otherwise.
Regarding the customer satisfaction report, we did not change the document after she signed it.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:You have not tried to resolve this matter in a fair manner! Your offers were unreasonable and I made that very clear to the owner *** on 2/10/23.
My request is for a $3000 credit to compensate for the tasks that you did not complete in the contract.
Again, the customer satisfaction document was altered after I signed it. The comments in black ink is not my writing and not my words! It was clearly altered after i gave it back to the contractor. I've uploaded the original document given to the contractor which I also maintained in my records!
Sincerely,

Complaint: 18954694
I am rejecting this response because:The ******************* inspector and 3rd party inspector T.P.I along with the ******************* Building Dpt Commissioner assessed my garage on 2/17/23 and there were many concerns noted and ultimately it failed the inspection. As I stated in my email communication to Father and Sons on February 13, 2023, the ******************* stated the failed 1/17/23 required a re- inspection. At no point did ****** ever communicate that to me instead he took a photo of a 1/20/23 inspection report that stated pass (siding only).
Furthermore, I've been stating over and over since November 25, 2022 that the *** needed to be removed and re-installed correctly and the framing for the door and window needed to be re-framed correctly as it is listed in my contract and was also discussed prior to me hiring Father and Son's. Your contractor and ****** came to my home on 1/28/2023 and confirmed tasks were not done in the contract and stated it didnt need to be done because it was already done correctly before your company started any work. Your company ignored my requests to resolve this matter months ago and ultimately lied and lead me to believe the inspection was passed when in actuality it did not.
I am requesting an in person meeting with Father and Son's Home Improvement, the contractor, the ******************* Building dpt Commissioner, and the inspectors to go over the 2/17/23 failed inspection report and am requesting this meeting occur as soon as possible.
The failed inspection report from 2/17/23 will be uploaded and emailed to Father and Son's Home Improvement once I have received it.
Sincerely,

I contacted Father and Sons Remodeling to install a dormer on my home. I signed the contract & also made a $6,000 down payment on 2/10/22. I was promised that the work would start the 1st of spring it is now 10/10/22 and no work has begun. My village requested that the contractor pay a $2,000 deposit towards incidentals and $ 883 for the permit which was included in my price but Father and Sons is demanding that I make the payment to the village. My village also informed me that the contractor has not provided them with licenses. The contractor is telling me that he has given the village $10,000 but the village states they have not received a dime. I should have know better when the contractor negotiated, renegotiated and in tern canceled on replacing the floors in the impacted area. We are now approaching winter, Ive rearranged my home in preparation for work to start and nothings happening. My husband has severe and chronic health issues I cant afford to have my roof torn off in the middle of a ******* winter by a contractor who has already not been upfront, truthful and stood behind their promises. This project has already caused me stress. I want a full refund of my $6,000 or the work started within the next 2 weeks and a guaranteed completion date of 11/20/22.Business response

We are sorry to hear that ***************** is stressed; however, she is the one holding the project.
We did not promise ***************** a starting date. We can't give our customers a starting date without a building permit.
***************** signed a contract with us on February 10, 2022, to build 2 dormers for closet space and gave us a deposit of $6,000.00. We hired a licensed state architect to prepare architectural drawings. On April 22, 2022, the architect completed the architectural drawings. After several meetings with ***************** and modifications to the drawings ***************** approved the drawings on July 20, 2022. We applied for a building permit on August 9, 2022, and the building permit was approved on September 15, 2022. We are waiting for the customer to pay for the building permit. As we informed *****************, we are not responsible for any permit fees or related fees to obtain the building permit. As a General Contractor, we have a surety bond of $10,000.00 for the *******************.
Attached is a copy of the contract and the bond. We will schedule the work as soon as ***************** obtains her building permit.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:Please reopen my case I have been having trouble with my e-mail . Send all replys to this email . *** (owner) came to my house . He asked me was I going to buy the permit or him I said, you buy it and start the work once you get it . I signed a agreement . Later we added changes he had me sign another document. Our agreement was in February he didnt have all his license until October. I was going to pay for the permit. I bought it and took it to the village. She told me he didnt have his roofing license. And she couldnt take my money. He also told me he gave the village ten thousand dollars. The village said he was lieing. He didnt give one *****. The village phone number is *************. Please ask the permit department. They will backup what I said. Please have him return all my money because it was his fault. He want me to pay two thousand dollars to cover if they destroy anything . I will not pay if his workers damage anything. That is why he is holding up my job.
