Inundated daily with lease buyout letters. Ive called repeatedly and they refuse to take me off their list.

    Business response

    10/31/2024

We only send out 1 mailing, while there are other companies that do the same thing and also send a letter, also her dealership sending mailings. Furthermore there is a "opt-out" number and disclaimer on the bottom and the back of the letter to do so.

    Complaint: 22497301

I am rejecting this response because:

I still received another letter from them today after I filed my complaint with you. I know its the same company due to the above same telephone numbers where I requested on October 20 and 25 for them to stop sending them. I was not interested. There were other letters over the last few months which I did not keep. I will keep any others I receive now to send to you.
    Thank you for your help.

    Sincerely,

    *** ******

This is indeed not our company. Very clearly at the top of the letter is says "Lease Maturity Services LLC". That is a different company located in ********, we are in ************** and called, Lease ***************** we are not affiliated in any way. Furthermore, from the second uploaded image with the phone numbers, that phone number is not connected to us at all. Our number is ************ and can easily verified on our ****** page. We ask kindly that this complaint be directed toward the correct company.

    Thank you.

It appears I can help with this I would like to point out we only send 2 advertisements to any one customer! There are several companies like ours that advertise the same way!

I will remove your name and address from our database immediately! I apologize for your inconvenience.

Temporary I currently lease a 2022 ***** Passport thru ***** Financial my original lease was ending January 2025.Someone named **** (*********) who claimed he was from the lease maturation department which ! assumed was directly ***** Financial. Was in contact with him for multiple days and gave him all my personal information along with my mothers for a possible consign for the lease buy out. Finally when **** gave me numbers he said the new loan would be thru a credit union I began to act suspicious. Contacted the credit union directly which was a company called ***************************** application under my social existed. I had given **** my mother's information and he stated the loan would be the same her credit is about the same as mine. My mother's credit is an over 100 points higher than mine. This is where red flags went off. I contacted ***** Financial directly they notified that I had called in and had information faxed to an email address that went directly to Tory that's how he was able to gather all the information on the car. ***** also notified me nobody would ever call from their lease maturity department and request information without directing me to the dealership. I reported everything and they suggested to file a police report. I further researched this gentleman *************************** he works out of Illinois for a company called Lease Maturity Services. I'm led to believe he's purchasing data for people that have leased vehicles and cold calling them gathering personal information. Can't imagine how many people he's taking advantage of and gathering sensitive information from which is not morally and ethically right.

    Dear *********************,

I am a manager at Lease Maturity Services, LLC for over 14 years, I have read your complaint regarding Tory, one of our reps.  I do not mean to diminish your statement in any way, I just want to assure you that your personal information and security is of the highest standards governed by the FTC.  Nothing you have provided is kept by our company as we use software and rules that all automobile companies and lenders adhere too.  Our mission is to provide you with a safe and easy way to buy out your leased vehicle at the end of its term.  **************** and your confidence in our business is the number one goal.  I would like to apologize because your experience was not what we all hoped for.  I will discuss this matter directly with Tory today.  If I can be any further assistance to you or if you would like to speak to me, I am available most afternoons at ************ or by email.

    Regards,

    ***************************;

    Complaint: 22277953

I am rejecting this response because:

I was explained from ***** Financial direct that nobody would contact me directly for a lease buy out without directing me to the dealership

I was also told from ***** Financial directly that someone called in acting as me since I am the sole account holder and had my contract emailed or faxed to Tory the *** from this company. The *** from ***** read me the email address something to the ******************************* (not 100% sure the accuracy of the address specifically)

I did not give Tory access to do any of this outside of giving him my personal information direct. Therefore not information is not fully safe as he was able to contact ***** Financial for the original contract or buyout amount.

Lastly my mothers credit is over 100 points higher than mine as I stated on my original complaint  **** specifically said her credit is about the same as yours so it wouldnt make a difference so lets leave everything in your name. Thats when my red flag went completely off realizing that was not moral or ethical information to do business with.

I have no desire at all to speak to any manager or owner from this company to correct my situation since I was flat out lied to. This gentleman clearly had no conversation directly with **** as he attempted calling and also leaving me a direct voicemail today.

    Dear Lane

I have spoken to Tory and explained the situation.  We spoke about your quote he actually thought you might have still been interested in moving forward and wanted to offer an apology himself.  I have made it clear that no further contact will be made.  It is hard to communicate this way, but I understand you wish for no further contact from any of our staff.  As a final note our business offers and optional way to buyout your leased vehicle at or near the end of its lease term.  We try to provide a very fair and easy solution to sitting at the dealership and the department of motor vehicles and do the work for you.  We have over ****** very satisfied customers who love our service.  If there is anything I can do for you Lane please contact me anytime you wish.  I want to further explain your free quote has been removed and any information regarding you has been deleted from our systems.

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:

I do not accept any type of apology being I was directly lied to. My mothers credit for a co sign is more than 100 points higher than mine.  **** clearly never ran an application for an attempted co sign and lied about it.

However your company is gathering or purchasing customers data in my opinion is unethical. I cannot be the only person thinking someone is calling directly from ***** financial direct. Your company may offer honest services to customers. I will not be one of them as I was misled.

    Sincerely,

Me and my husband are getting mail from this company weekly each! When I tried to be put on this company's "Opt out Notice" the company immediately wanted to know my social security number, DOB, Zip code and address. I have absolutely No dealings with this company. I do not lease with this company so there is ZERO reason why this company needs my personal identification information to remove me off of their mailing list. The company has never had our personal information so therefore Lease Maturity has nothing to match it with in order to remove our name from all correspondence. It all sounds like a scram! I would like this company to stop contacting me, stop sending me and my husband letters every week.

    Business response

    04/26/2023

I am truly sorry for your inconvenience and understand your hesitation to give them your social security number. We usually only send a customer a maximum of 2 advertisements.  The *** OUT phone number is a direct contact with the credit bureau company they only need a social security number to verify who is calling to opt out.  They do require the social in order to remove and block you permanently from this sort of advertisement.  I can assure you Lease Maturity Services is not asking for your social security number.  Lease Maturity Serivces has already removed your name and address from any future mailing campaigns.  However, I would still recommend calling the 800 *** OUT number it is 100% safe to use, you can ask them who you are speaking with it will be one of the credit reporting agencies.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Although I did not provide this company my Social Security number, DOB or any of the other required information to be removed from their mailing list, per the reply back,  the company was able to remove me from their mailing list. No one should be required to provide a social security number to be taken off a mailing list especially an unsolicited, unauthorized mailing list. I have accepted the response but I will like it documented that I believe the company's actions to be disingenuous, deceptive and possibly illegal.
