On May 13, 2022 we wrote a check to Clyde's Pools for 60% ($7333.23) for the cost of a pool. The pool was promised to be installed sometime at the end of July. After not hearing from anyone at the company once July had passed. I called to find out the status of my purchase. I left a message to return my call and a week later no called returned. I found out Clyde's is closing their business and I have not been notified of how or when my down payment will be returned. I was told by an employee in mid June Clyde's had all the parts to install the pool but they were back ordered on the liners. I have checked with other local pool company's and I was told there is not a back order they know of. This could because Clyde's uses a different company or they simply have took money for there own personal gain. My employment in Law Enforcement leaves me to believe it was for the personal gain. My wife and I work hard for our money and both our jobs are to serve others. The down payment was made to provide our children with something they have wanted. Without the return of the down payment we will be unable to do so in the future. CHECK # **** for the amount of $7333.23 was cashed by Clyde's Pool on May 13 2022. We wish to have our money returned in a timely fashion. Thank you..

On August 24, 2021, we purchased a pool from Clyde's to be installed "in the spring" of 2022. We placed a substantial down payment (over half of the total) at the time of purchase. We have called several times to check on the status of our install, only to be met with different reasons from the office staff each time. We have asked to speak with the owner, and we were assured he would contact us. He did not. We drive from our home this morning, August 16, to try to get a resolution, only to be met with a sign on the door that says "temporarily closed". We are frustrated and want answers. Real answers. Give us the pool and equipment. We ordered or give us a refund.

I wrote them a "mandatory" 60% down payment for the purchase of an inground pool on October 8, 2021. I signed the payment schedule and gave them a check for $29,854.94. I was told by the owner himself that same day that they would dig in May and we would be swimming by June. The office manager, the owner's daughter, ******* ***** told me they would contact me in February when the new liners come in so that I could come in and pick out my liner. I have an unanswered email I sent her in February. My husband and myself showed up at the business in March and they let us pick out our liner. May came and went. My husband called them in mid June and was told they were behind because of the rain. They told him they were finishing up a job in ******** Illinois, then had the Mckain pool to do in ***** ****** Indiana and we were next. He was told they had 4 days work left on the one and 10 days work on the other. He called again in July. He was told our pool was order and would be here that week. 2 weeks later, my husband called again. He thought it would be best to get a tracking number. He was told nothing was ordered yet. They were behind schedule. My husband only talks to the owner now. The office girls get hateful. It is now August 15th and still no pool. We just found out that a friend of ours is also getting a pool there. They went to the office and there is a sign on the door that says "temporarily closed". Then one of their employees informed us on Saturday, August 13th, the owner is closing the doors in 2 weeks and filing bankruptcy.

    Business response

    09/21/2022

Business Response Due to health and other reasons we have had to close our doors hopefully just temporarily. However we will refund the downpayment within the next month or so. We understand Mrs. ********* frustration/dissatisfaction we could've/should've communicated much better. We are not filing bankruptcy... Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) They have had our money for 10 months. We would like it back now. Not "next month or so". This gives them the time to cover more tracks. We have contacted an attorney and they just happen to be their attorney and they could not work with us due to a conflict of interest.

We paid for our pool on 3/6/2021 $50,937.46. We were told our pool would be installed that summer. Project was started Nov. 8th 2021. Project is still incomplete as of today August 15, 2022. Pool Crete under liner has big ripples, liner has multiple wrinkles, corners of pool liner are pulled tight and not touching wall. Automatic cover ($11,000) isn't aligned and pulls off track. Pool pump/heater flips breaker regularly. We have reached out to **** and the business constantly. He has stopped all communication.

We hired Clyde's Pools to open our Pool. The required us to pay $150 in advance, which we did. They told us that we had to get the cover off ourselves, which we did. Two men came to our house and told us that we had to put more water in the pool and to start our pump ourselves, which we did. They said they would be back. Two days later they came back and poured 2 gallons of shock in the pool and said they would be back to test the water and open the pool. They never, ever came back. I went out and spoke to Clyde's and they said they would come back out. Again, no one came back, I called today and the person on the phone said that is all they do, they start the pump and pour in 2 gallons of shock and that is it. They did not clean, nor test the water, nor uncover the pool, nor start the pump. $`150.00 to pour in 2 gallons of shock and we did the work of uncovering the pool and starting the pump. This is truly unacceptable and bad business.
