Following an accident January 18, 2022, I called a number of body shops, learning how delayed most places were. F&B Collision eagerly pursued my business in January and assured me they'd be faster than other shops. They had yet to complete any significant work through November.Between January and November, they blamed supply chain disruptions for parts and labor setbacks as well. They would tell me a deadline and promise to hit it, then miss it, moving the date out another two to four weeks each time.By July 15th, I told them that now at 6 months, this was becoming untenable and that they needed to accommodate my need for a vehicle beyond my insurance company's provisions. Upon hearing this suggestion, the owner became belligerent with me for suggesting they cover my rental car fees until the repair was finished. He said I could be patient, or come get the truck, and pay him for restocking the parts hed procured.I called my insurance companys assigned claims adjuster who said there wasnt anything she could do other than try to talk to the shop owner.I called around to other shops and couldnt get anyone else to consider taking on the repair given another shop had been involved already. This cycle repeated until November when I found an advocate at my dealership who had likewise been verbally abused by this shop owner, as well as a new claims adjuster who said we were going to get this resolved. I followed her lead and somehow found a shop with an opening much closer to home. But now that weve moved the truck, F&B Collision needs to return funds disbursed through my insurance provider and have yet to do so, further delaying the repair with the new shop.I am out not only a vehicle now, for at least 11 months but all the assumed costs associated with the entire situation: rentals, ride shares, and gas, let alone continuing to stay current on making payments on a damaged vehicle and maintaining my insurance premium.
