Haubstadt Paint & Flooring owned by Dennis Tenbarge was sold in 8/2023 to a Jeremy Overton. Dennis Tenbarge and his team installed all the flooring in my new home with excellent craftmanship and customer service. In 9/2024, I ordered stair trends for 3 utility steps from the new owner. After some back & forth, and unanswered texts the order was delivered by an independent installer in late October, one of Jeremy's high school friends. When unboxing the order, it was clear the stair trends were not what we discussed or matched the sample. After making the comparison, all that was left to do was for Haubstadt Flooring to correct the order. Instead, this independent contractor started a spiel that nothing was right since "2020 and covid." blab blab Immediately alarm bells went off. My response was “Everybody blames covid for everything being wrong, the bottom line is my order is wrong.” He bristled at my response, likely because I didn't engage in his theory, and he was dealing with a female. Rather than offering customer service, Jeremy Overton canceled my order because his installer didn't like my reply and reaction. This is my private property he was on, and as the property owner I have the right to disagree, redirect or stop an unnerving, strange and atypical conversation/theory that could have gone off the rails.
