Alert
In November of 2022, BBB opened an investigation on Quest Exteriors’ business practices. This investigation was prompted by a spike in complaints alleging that the company had failed to fulfill contracts within their estimated timeframes after collecting consumer deposits.
On November 17, 2022, Quest Exteriors began responding to complaints, claiming that those on file should, instead, be directed towards Quest Concrete, LLC. After further investigation, BBB was able to obtain a Quest Concrete contract that included contact information for Quest Exteriors. Additionally, several consumers informed BBB that the name “Quest Exteriors” and “Quest Concrete” had been used interchangeably during exchanges with their assigned salesmen. A consumer also reported to BBB that they were in contact with the owner of Quest Exteriors, Mike Gossett, when inquiring about their project that was contracted with Quest Concrete. On November 21, 2022, BBB sent correspondence to Quest Exteriors requesting further information pertaining to the possibility of common ownership between the two companies.
On November 29th, 2022, BBB received a response from Quest Exteriors that states: ‘The entity that owns Quest Exteriors is also a minority owner in Quest Concrete, LLC. While I have been actively working with both companies I have no control over the majority ownership of Quest Concrete, LLC or what direction they take the company. For start up purposes both companies ran out of the same office and used some of the same back-office staff until early November. The office had to be closed in early November due to labor issues that were brought on by the nationwide raw material shortage of Portland cement. Quest Concrete was put on a material allocation for 5 -6 weeks from the middle of September through the end of October. Quest Concrete, LLC could not continue normal business operations after that 5–6-week period of not being able to perform work. Our attorneys are working on the path forward as it relates to Quest Concrete LLC. As it relates to Quest Exteriors, Quest Exteriors has met and continues to meet all of its contractual obligations and did not contract any concrete work with the above-mentioned customers and should not have the complaints attached to its BBB Accreditation."
Shortly after receiving this response, BBB found additional information, through an Indiana Secretary of State data search, that the co-owner of Quest Exteriors, Carie Gossett, is listed as “Manager” on Quest Concrete’s Change of Principal Address form. BBB, again, felt prompted to request further information pertaining to ownership. However, BBB has yet to receive a response to its additional request as of December 7, 2022.
As a result, BBB has been unable to receive current information from the business as well as its potential connection to Quest Concrete. Therefore, BBB suggests that consumers proceed with caution when choosing whether to do business with this company.
