    We had various storms come thru our area on June 25th 2024 and as a result had part of a tree fall on our house. We were recommended to have ********************* Maher Construction come out to do an ESTIMATE for tarping. We called the company for an estimate. When my mother in law arrived to our residence there were already workers on the roof completeing work that was never authorized. We recieved a bill for $400 for around ***** minutes of work which only included stapling two tarps to part of the roof. I emailed ***** on July 13th to get a broken down cost of our bill. I did not recieve a response back on July 15th so followed up with a call on July 16th and the receptionist said she would send it. Less than an hour later I recieved a call from ***** himself who refused to provide a broken down cost for labor and materials. He kept saying "that's just the price" and would not agree to send anything. He also began to raise his voice and become extremely rude and said "we were tying up his money because we wouldn't pay our ***** We did not recieve a bill in the mail until July 10/11 so both encounters occured less than a week later. He proceeded to then hang up on me.

    When the storm hit we were called out to do a Dry In. We told her we could not dry in until the tree was removed. We were given permission to have the tree taken off by a local tree company and to put the bill on our account. The main objective when storms hit is to dry in so that no further damaged is done to the home. The billing was sent out due to the tree company needing to be paid because of the magnitude of the storm. The ***************** will have no problem with the $400.00 charge as they know the quick response is important to save from more damage. We actually made two trips out to the residence trying to cover up what we could with the tree on the house and then went back as soon as the tree was removed. We do not want to cause any added stress at times like these, we were there to help. I did not and would not hang up on anyone. My business depends on handling problems correctly.

    This company was called out to do an estimate ONLY.  My husband or myself the homeowners did not give a verbal or written contract to do the work. After the tree work was done we did call to have the tarping finished and was told they didn't have the time to do it. My father and husband did the completition of the work not the company. I can provide pictures of this at request.
