Upon purchasing 2013 **** Explorer it was returened to the dealer 5 times the check engine light came on and also because the brakes were sweaking very loudly. When I received the truck back the check engine light came on again. The dealer told me to take it to a mechanic shop, I took it to **** at **** is saying that the cars problems are the catalytic converter and other things needs to be addressed as well. I reached out to the dealer ship about the problems **** found. I purchased this vehicle in July 2024 and have had to take it back 5 times for differnt issues. The dealership is saying the catalytic converter is not covered under the warrenty. They had sold me a care that has serval issues and is very expensive to pay for, I feel like the dealer should fix my car at no charge.Business response

I bought a car from their ************ location at the end of April of this year. The day after I bought the car, the check engine light came on due to the turbo needing to be replaced. After reporting this to the business, they had me take it to a third-party mechanic. The mechanic did not fix the issue the first time, the check engine light came back on again the day after I picked up my car. I took it to AutoZone to get the code read and it was the same issue they were supposed to fix. I contacted the dealership and had to speak to the owner, the owner had me bring it in to their own shop at their ************ location. When I brought it in to get fixed, they kept it longer than they said they would and werent following up with me or answering their phone when I called to follow up with them. When I picked it up, the check engine light came back on again the day after. Once again I took it back to AutoZone to see if it was the same issue and it was. I called the dealer again to let them know that it had come back on again and they were very asymptomatic about the situation and seemed like they didnt care. Once again I had to bring my vehicle back in to the dealers shop and once again they failed to provide any follow up and were not answering my phone calls. The issue seemed to be fixed, however, this past Friday my car overheated because there was a coolant leak. It turns out that the main hose that pumped coolant to my engine was broken. The dealers shop broke it when they were fixing my turbo. I called back to the dealer and not only did they make me call 3 different places to get ahold of the owner, whom I never got to speak to, they basically told me I had to fix it myself and again were asymptomatic about the situation. I am very frustrated because I have already made 2 car payments on a car I have barely had for 2 months and havent been able to drive it half the time due to it having all of these issues.Customer response

Hello,
I would like the business to compensate me for the wages I lost having to miss work for the days that I did not have my car when they had it to fix it and also pay me back for the amount I have to pay to get my car fixed at the mechanic I had to get my car towed to yesterday on 6/24/24. I still have not heard back from the owner of the dealership regarding the situation. I do not currently have the documents on me pertaining to this situation, but I will be able to upload them later today when I am home from work.

Hello,
I would like the business to refund me the $465 its going to cost to repair my vehicle. The dealership claimed that the warranty I bought for my car would take care of any problems I had and I would only pay a $100 deductible. However, when we took the warranty papers to the mechanic, the mechanic said that the warranty may not cover the repairs. I have continuously tried getting ahold of the owner of the dealership, as I have been told everytime I called the dealership that hes the only one who would be able to help with the situation. However, I have not been able to get ahold of him. I have left numerous messages for him to call me back and have not gotten a call back, I have been told to call multiple different places to reach him, to no avail. I am very frustrated because this is now money coming out of my own pocket to pay for repairs that they caused.

My car had broken down and I couldn't fix it so I went to this local dealer and started looking at cars. I went over my options and made a decision on a 2019 ****** Kicks ** This transaction took place on 04/20/2023-04/21/2023. During the sales process I was sold a vehicle warranty contract that I was never informed about which increased the final sales price by thousands. I walked into the dealership with $500 to put down the dealership artificially inflated my down payment to $3800 to get me approved to get the car which is auto fraud. This dealership also promised to fix the broken radio they sold me the car with in which their mechanic refused to contact me about parts coming in after I called 2 separate times and visited their physical location. This dealership also attempted to commit auto fraud again by deferred down payment. After all paperwork was signed they asked for an additional $500 that could be payed at a later date to which I refused to pay to this day due to it 1. It being auto fraud and 2. They refused to hold up to their end of the deal regarding the radio. At this point the car is causing me massive financial strain at $437 a month for the payment and no insurance companies willing to insure it for any less than hundreds of dollars a month. My apr rate is $21% and I'll end up paying almost double what the car is even worth. The car was financed for in the $17000 range. The service contact (which I was never told about) brought it up to the $21000 range. And then their false down payment bumped it down to $17k again.Business response

It havent even been 30 days and the car was having issues I feel that is very unacceptable and it is lemon rules u cant just sell someone a lemonInitial Complaint

To whom it may concern, I purchased a King ***** F150 2016 **** Truck from this company. Three months later, the service engine light came on so I took it back to the dealership and after a heated conversation with the salesmen, ******, and the manager, they agreed to fix the truck. Exactly 3 weeks later, the light came back on so I then took the truck to ********* located in **********, IN. Since then, I've spent $4,000+ to have an exhaust hose replaced, spark plugs, and oil leak into the Starter line that caused the started to go out. I then had to purchase a new starter and have it installed and now a catalytic converter. I've only owned the truck for 1 year and have had to spend an excessive amount of money. I need help, I am a disabled veteran, and they told me they take care of their veterans and here I am out of over $4,000. This has been a nightmare. I need help I want my money back of $4,000 or a trade in.Business response

I filed a complaint against Northwest Indiana Auto Finance.Complaint #********.I was contacted by bbb on 12/8/22 and was told to contact the company.I called that night and talked to someone and was told they would get back with me the next day.I never received a call back.I contacted the warranty company and told them I towed the vehicle to a shop and they told me the engine was shot. When I told Northwest I was having problems I was told I could only use certain shops, well they did replace the transmission ,so why did they not notice that oil was all over the engine when the Trans was replaced and tell this to the warranty company and have it looked into further.I have talked to other people that said they were sold cars the has similar issues. This is not a good company to do business with they take advantage of people.Thee warranty company said the will replace the engine up to $5000.00.I have to wait to see if the shop can find a refurbished engine being the car is only 3 yrs.old without me having to put 2 thousand + out of my pocket. Obviously this company doesn't do inspections on their cars before they sell them to customers.

I purchased a 2014 jeep from this company for the total of ****** on 5/03/2022. Not even 24 hours after having the Jeep we noticed it was leaning over to one side almost like it was going to tip over. Upon inspection it was diagnosed that the lift was cracked in half and needed to be repaired for a total cost of **** that the dealer refused to pay for even though it was a safety concern. On top of this the car has not and will not pass emissions testing which is required to plate the car. When the dealership was confronted about not passing inspections less that 24 hours from owning it we were told they were not going to pay for it to be fixed. I have paid thousands of dollars to have this vehicle fixed and as of today its still failed emissions 4 times. However I am still paying for the car payments on top of all repairs they are bot paying for and I even purchased a warranty that is not covering anything. When you purchase a vehicle from a dealership you are paying to have a working vehicle the fact that this vehicle is not passing emissions directly from the dealership is not within state compliance of good business practices and constitutes the lemon laws.Business response
