I had a basement flood due to a broken pipe July 26, 2024. Will O**** with Iron Cross Construction was supposed to repair the water damage. He requested $2500 for materials and has yet to show up to make the repairs to my basement as of 11/22/2024. He refused ever commit to any date to return to make repairs. Complete nightmare dealing with Will O****. Do not ever do business with this crook!Review from Luella V

In early September 2021, my husband and I met with Will ****** of Iron Cross Construction to discuss hiring him to install 8 new windows in our home. On 9/15/21, he provided a contract for the work. He asked that we provide payment for the windows up front in the amount of $6,426 so that he could order the windows. In December, after absolutely NO communication, I had to reach out to him in order to get the status of our order. Will confirmed that they had arrived and we were "next on the list" for his scheduling calendar. Between that time and May 2022, any communication with Will only happened if I initiated it and the communication was always responded to with excuses (e.g. "You're next on the list..", "I'll be there in 3 weeks", "I'll be there in 2 weeks", "I had to lay some people off", etc.). At that point, our attorney advised us to pick up the windows ourselves. On 5/25/22, we went to pick them up. We learned that Will had charged us for two extra windows on top of the eight we needed, which we found extremely odd. He also ordered patio doors for us with shades when we asked for patio doors without shades. Our new contractor told us that the windows he ordered were not the right size, which resulted in him having to make a lot of alterations so that they would fit. Frustrated, my husband asked Will if he would be willing to meet up at one of his jobs to try and discuss what was going on, but Will refused to share any details as to where my husband could meet him. My husband then asked him to come to our house to discuss all of the problems. At this point, he stopped responding to us completely. For someone that speaks so highly of his work and his business, we were extremely surprised at his constant lack of communication, ordering windows that we didn't need, ordering the wrong patio doors, constant excuses and numerous missed work dates. DO NOT HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR!

This is all untrue. And they got their windows. And hired a different contractor. And I told them the windows were 12-16 weeks out could be longer. I never stole anymore or any material from this person. I took the chk they cut me and paid for the windows. And due to help problems and being behind yes I was late to the job.
I never once installed a window in their house.Review from Michael Y

Mr. ******** behavior throughout this process has been extremely erratic and unprofessional. The following is a small list of the issues we encountered: Repeated unanswered calls and texts; constant excuses; repeated no-shows; upper and lower kitchen cabinets not built to spec; base trim used to shim a drawer which they built too small for the opening; sub-standard materials and hardware used on the job; there are exposed screws that come up through the bottom of some of the drawers, two missed closing dates costing us $50/day in interest w/ our lender; in an effort to try and make our second closing date, we had to hire another carpenter to do the work he wasn't getting done; he took 3 weeks of vacation without securing proper coverage to keep the job going while he was away - resulting in MORE delays; drawer bottoms that have gaps between the drawer bottom and the drawer side; his employee drove over a container holding 3 gallons of oil - which spilled into a large mud puddle and was then spread down our driveway from his tires (a video, and numerous calls and texts were sent to his boss, who didn't even try to offer a solution. We had to clean it up ourselves so that it wouldn't drain into our pond when it rained later that night. The employee eventually took care of what we had collected); the master closet was not built to spec, he used the wrong hinges on the doors, etc. We have spent thousands of dollars beyond what we have already paid him, with thousands more still to be spent for corrections and to complete work left undone. We have spoken with contractors that have also worked with him and they report the same issues. It is critical that action be taken to prevent this individual/business from continuing to take money from homeowners, while providing unbelievably poor services and leaving work undone.
