On Sept. 10 a crew of 3 moved items out of our barn and delivered them first to a storage unit and then a few items went to our new home. I went ahead and cleared the drive way so that they could pull completely up and way from our vehicles. But for some reason the stopped the truck right next to my husband **** ***. My husband has lost both legs and a hand. The van is imparitive to have to be able to take him to his doctors appoints and rehab. the men started pulling out the final items from the truck and leaving them on the platform that is part of the truck. It was about 5 or 6 feet high. They lined the furniture up and the went back into the truck. The 9' wood bookshelf that was left precariously on the end was wobbling and the fell onto the Ramp Fan. It crushed the antenae, the windshield, and put a small dent in the metal around the windshield and a larger dent in the fender. The man that was in charge immediately said that they would get it taken care of. He made a call and set an appointment for a new windshield to be put on the following day. He then informed me that I would need to drop the van off for a few days at a location that he determined to get the but fixed. I took the van into an actual body shop and they informed me that it was $2500 worth of damage, not including the windshield and antenae. The next day this little guy showed up to fix the windshield. He informed me that this was a "family" business. I had my doubts about if he was actually licensed to do this. I showed him the dents and he said that the smaller one could not be fixed without breaking the windshield. The body shop told me that as well. When I mentioned this to the job manager, he said that he has a guy. I suddenly realized that he is trying to get this done by friends and family instead of insurance. Calling ***** ****, the manager, he had not been informed of the situation. He said that he'd get with the owner, ****, and get back. He did not. Just give me the money for dents.
