I have been without my AC unit for over 2 weeks. They gave me a portable unit but it cannot keep the place cool enough to be comfortable to sleep. I keep getting the run around on when it will be fixed and by whom. I just want my AC fixed and feel as my apartment is not truly livable, a discount on rent due to how long I have gone without.

11/20/2022 My apartment was rummaged through. I noticed that when I got off work someone knocked over my things in the bathroom put my dog in my bedroom and shut her in. She was scared to the point she peed on my bed. I contacted maintenance and he confirmed that he didn't go into my apartment that day. There was no forces entry so someone had a way in and out. I want to break my lease I do not feel safe. I have had constant issue with the front office and they have done nothing to help me. The manager was rude to my daughter who told them her staff needed additional training when she called about my heat and stove breaking and they didn't over any follow up or follow through in regards to the situation.

    Business response

    11/29/2022

The Complainant, after reporting that someone was in her apartment, admitted that her daughter had a key.  She then said her daughter would not do her dirty like that.  We did not have any personnel in her apartment that day at all.
The Complainant came to the office and was out of control, screaming and cursing at them.  The police were called and as they were coming  into the office they heard her tell the staff that if anyone comes to her apartment, she is going to blow their brains out. She was digging in her  purse looking for something and the police hand cuffed her thinking she was looking for a gun and removed her from the office.  I do not believe she was arrested.
After that incident the tenant was given a 30-day notice to vacate, and she needs to vacate by the 31st of December.
The Complainant has been notified that she may only deal with our attorney and have no contact with our staff.

I have had a multiple issues with the upkeep of my apartment and the condition of the property.I went without a stove for almost 2 months. The dumpsters are always disgusting. My Neighbor had a bullet shot through her apartment directly below me. But my last straw was when they lost my payment. I dropped off two money orders to pay my rent at the first of the month. I only found out that I was showing as late when I logged online to set up auto payments. I went into the apartment office To talk to them and their office is so destroyed and dirty, it’s a wonder they don’t lose more payments. I am able to request a refund on my money order but it will take over 90 days. In the meantime I’ve used all of my money to pay my rent for a second time. The manager was of no help. Did not call me back as requested and I was refused a corporate number or number for a higher up.

Today I spoke with the above mentioned complainant.  She indicated that unfortunately she had failed to keep her receipt for the money order in question, but also indicated she did have the money order number and checked it with the store she purchased it from.  The store indicated the money order has not been cashed.

I have spoken to my staff and despite their efforts, they have not been able to find any uncashed money orders in their office.  I did have them remove the late fees of $95.00 that were charged

to the resident for her trouble.

She did not want to discuss the maintenance issues and said that she understood that everyone was short handed and she was trying to be understanding.  She has given her notice to vacate at the end of

her lease, 12/31/2022 and I let her know we were crediting her account with the $95.00 late fee.
