The owner of this company. Derek Dixon is a complete crook and criminal. he caused massive damage and made things worse after I tried to work with him honestly on storm clean up. He kept hustling me for my insurance policy number as its in his game to commit insurance fraud. Hes a predator and a snake in the grass. He kept threatening me with BS he could not back up, hes already under federal and state ingestion for fraud. he tries to claim 'verbal agreements' then lies, cheats and changes the story to muscle for money money. I called him out on his BS and he cowered and got all quiet. He only acted tough on the phone as he's weak, a criminal and a schmuck. He might reply to this and dispute but this guy, Derek Dixion is a grade A liar and criminal wanna be scam artist. I will laugh when I hear he's in prison down the road. Hes trash, garbage and a grade A loser. Do not ever hire this guy. "I want half up front, and the rest before we drop the last limb"- Derek. That way he can take the money and run. The state AG is already looking into this moron. Way before I ever made the major mistake of hiring him. He says the estimate is 2500 then jacks it up. if insurance is involved, he tries to jack it up beyond reasonable means. Textbook insurance fraud. a total loser. He will be in prison down the road. I guarantee it. He will likely see this and try to threaten and extort me more. Don't even try Derek. Your on too many lists already to try and play victim.

I had this company cut down a few trees. He didn’t haul away everything, never finished the job. Never put my fence back up after over a week.. verbal agreement, he wouldn’t give me a receipt for the job. He threatened to put a lean on my house if I don’t pay him before the job is done. He has my check & I put a stop payment on it. He keeps harassing me at my house. Won’t finish the job or give me a receipt. I stopped answering the door as he’s being aggressive. I would be happy to pay him for partial work since he hasn’t completed the job. He won’t put my fence up or clean up the rest of yard.

I did cut down some trees for this customer and the debris were all picked up and hauled away. There is nothing left that is needed to be picked up. The fence had not been put back up yet because I was doing storm work in the area, and they only had their dump site open for a limited time and I had told her I would return to put it back up as soon as I was done with other customers that needed debris hauled away. She had given me a check for the amount we agreed upon after the yard was finished and up to her expectations. She asked me to hold off until the following Friday to cash it and I did exactly that. The day I went to cash it, the bank was unable to contact her in order for her to confirm the check. I reached out to her and let her know that they would not cash it without her approval. She then told me to follow her from her home to the bank and she would tell them to cash it. After driving from one city to the next and arriving at the bank, she not only causes a scene inside the bank by telling the bank employees not to cash the check but assaults me as well. A police report was filed, and the incident was caught on camera. A week later I had stopped by her home to attempt to discuss the situation or come to an agreement but was told to get off the property. I contacted the police in the city where she resides, and she proceeded to get the neighbors both across the street and to the north of her involved. The officer arrived and tried to mediate the situation, but she did not want to pay the full invoice amount and then proceeded to offer less than the agreed amount and stated that she would write another check for that amount. I refused as the work had already been completed, for over a week at this point and she already refused the first check, I was not going to accept another one and chance she would do the same thing again.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY. Any good reviews he does have are paid $50 to leave a 5 star review. Doesn't pay his "employees." Completed over $10k worth of work he couldn't do himself because he isn't actually a tree guy just a scam artist who has been in business for less than 8 months under this company name. His last company, Midwest Landscape, got such a poor name he couldn't do business anymore. Seen him get thrown off someone's property by the homeowner more than once, one lady he harassed 3x in one hour knocking on her door trying to get her to let him cut her tree down, she paid Trenary $2k more than what "we" bid so she didn't have to deal with him. Guy is desperate for money because he spends more than what he makes, he can't afford to keep an actual, trained staff to do these jobs. Wouldn't be surprised if most of his equipment was paid for with the money he is supposed to pay his contractors, he has no W-2 employees, just pays people under the table or in my case not at all. A guy who had no business operating a chainsaw due to a previous chainsaw accident almost cut his arm off on a jobsite the second week I was there, thankfully I had a tourniquet/medical bag in my truck to help stop the bleeding so that I could take him to the ER. He provides no safety equipment to his staff, has no med bag or tourniquet in his truck. He has no insurance for his company to take care of employees who get hurt. This guy is going to get someone killed on a job site with how he operates and since he has no liability insurance that puts the homeowner at risk of being sued. Guy is 27 years old and has been in business "14 years." Absolute clown do not do business with this company no matter what sweetheart deal he tries to give you. He will come back after the job and say "oh well you know I underbid this", tell you what price he should have been at, and become irate when you don't pay the new balance This company needs to be shut down before someone gets killed.

I worked for him and was sitting with his wife and him when they did this job for Kristy and several others. Spilling all of her personal info to people that doesn't matter, I shouldn't know her husband's occupation and that is irrelevant to the work. They couldn't cut down the trunk of the tree and had to make me come by to drop it hoping FEMA would clean it up like the rest of the tree and he can bill her insurance for cleanup. The rake job was horrible. Raised the price and constantly called harassing almost everyone at inappropriate hours, showing up at people's door step demanding to be paid. He's cash only or refuses to take checks in a business name, you know why. He failed to pay 4 different employees at this time, 5 if you count myself. Basically your hired on a Monday and in a week or soo he will make an excuse to not pay and disappear. He can't keep his word, and expect if he gives a price range he will be at the top and add on things. A lot of property damage and unsafe work practices. You can look him up under MID AMERICA LANDSCAPE or TOPEKA TREE EXPERTS I have two reviews on my Yelp from him harassing customers when I wasn't around hiding behind my name, I would never hire someone like him. He still owes me and the rest of his help pay. It's been about 6 months and I've given this guy every opportunity. Call me when you want to pay Ben, those two kids, Robert, and myself what you owe.

Derek ***** stopped at the house & wanted to give a bid to take the tree that had fallen on my roof from the storm. He quoted $2,500. He wanted pymt up front. I said I did not have it. The next morning they got the tree down. He said after it was down, it was going to be more than he thought. He said $4,000. He said he would tack on my insurance deductible so he'd invoice $5,000. He said he was doing that for all his customers. The verbal agreement was to pay him $4,000 for removing the tree from the house, cutting the trunk, cleaning debris from the roof (which he did not do), raking the debris from the yard & removal. I paid him $500 that day. When he sent the invoice for the Ins.Co., he offered to add tree stump grinding. The bill I got was $7,500. I informed him the adjuster needed more detail on the invoice to justify the amount. It needed to be split to separate debris clean up & removal from roof. So I received a bill for $500 making the total owed $8,000. He was angry the Ins.Co. wanted more detail & said he didn't have time for that. He called my agent's office & harrassed the staff accusing them of fraud. He called the claims dept. & demanded to know if I've been paid. I sent a check for $3,500 & wrote pymt in full. $4,000 less $500 already paid. He won't cash it. I asked for a breakdown of the additional charges. I never got it. He said the bill went up 4,000 to 8,000 because "I added all this stuff". The only thing added was tree stump removal which I cancelled. He said "it was a crap ton of work". He harrassed me via text about pymt from insurance, that this was work from a month ago. He needed to pay his employees. He continued to harrase me about pymt. I told him I mailed it, he told me he wanted cash & asked me to write another check for him to pick up. I said no. When he got the check, he harrased me about the amount. I feel scammed at a vulnerable time. A friend pointed out the exploitation & him taking advantage to get more money from the Ins.Co.
