We went to see purchase a vehicle with ecars, my fiancee applied for a loan with them and I was the one who gave them my id for a copy so i could test drive a vehicle i was interested in. I got a letter from the ecars saying that ecars ran my credit. They have no signature or paperwork of me requesting information to be done. I have wrote a letter to the credit bureau explaining this matter and for them to remove it from my account.

Customer gave ECARS verbal approval & drivers license, but since we do not have written proof, we have reached out to the customer and will remove the inquiry transaction from her credit report if she disputes it. Customer has been advised to dispute with transunion.

June 4th 2021 I bought 2007 ********* *********** from ECars, LLC ******** **. $*** in cash plus trade in of $***. vehicle had a 30-day warranty, GPS tracker, automatic payments set up for $****** to ECars, LLC biweekly, full coverage insurance, per contract. August 2nd 2021 vehicle became inoperable. Past the 30-day warranty I had vehicle towed to ******* ********** **** ******** **. They had the vehicle for a week notifying me they replaced the ignition lock cylinder as a “last resort” because everything mechanically was working properly. However, the mechanic at *******, Nick, opened up the dash and observed the GPS wiring, declaring the inability to start the car was due to an improperly wired and “shotty” GPS tracker. At that time he took pictures and could not go further with the repair due to legality. It was explained to me by Brian, the general manager at ******* that in order to start the car they had to bypass the GPS. I notified ECars who denied this and accused ******* of tampering with the GPS. I asked ECars to come to ******* and remove the GPS so Nick could fix the issue which ECars refused. ECars demanded the car come to their shop and be looked at by their mechanic, Charlie. I did not want this but after paying $*** for the ignition lock cylinder unable to take it anywhere else, I had no choice but to allow ECars to take possession of the vehicle. ECars spoke with Brian and asked him 3 times to bypass the GPS so they could drive it avoid towing it which ECars states they would charge me for. ECars picked up the vehicle Aug. 9th 2021 at 6pm and by 10am on Aug. 10th 2021 the GPS was pulled and the dash torn apart by ECars, LLC. At that time I declined to go further with the sale due to a liability issue and what appeared, to me, to be a cover up. I made a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and currently going to court because I am being sued by ECars. I need help in this matter due to deception and my consumer rights have been violated.

    ****** *** ******** **********

To shortly summarize, Cynthia and Sara **** purchased the 2007 ********* *********** from ecars on 6/4/2021.
On August 2nd 2021 Sara called ecars stating the car is stuck at her work unable to start, informed her it was outside of warranty. She then stated she would just tow it to *******. Roughly a week later Sara calls ecars stating ******* is refusing to bypass the GPS and the GPS is causing the car not to start after replacing the ignition switch. The GPS was installed 10 months prior, so ecars wanted to inspect it to verify.
August 23rd, 2021 Ecars got ******* to lower the bill for ****. Sent a tow truck out to get it towed from ******* to Ecars shop.
August 24th, 2021 approximately 8am The shop began inspection, finding ******* installed the ignition switch without screws. Also discovered the fuse for the powertrain control module was blown. We removed the GPS device and replaced the fuse, the vehicle still would not start. Thus the GPS not the cause. Further testing found the Connector C1 was faulty and needed repaired or replaced before doing any further testing.
Sara refused to authorize any further repairs, leaving the *********** on ecars lot.
September 10th 2021, Sara made her last payment.
    October 26th 2021 the ***** ****** was repossessed.
November 15th, 2021 Sara filled a consumer complaint with the DA, ****** Consumer Protection.
December 7th, 2021 Ecars offered to to keep the vehicle in full satisfaction of the amount owed.
December 15th, 2021 Jason with the district attorney stated Sara demanded a full refund. He cautioned to her about the legal consequences. The DA then closed the case.
April 4th, 2022 The file was sent to **** ****** for collection on the deficiency balance.
In conclusion Ecars made all efforts to fix and satisfy the customer, she refused.
Ms. **** is in default and owes the deficiency balance.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
******* ceased any further work on the vehicle after observing the wiring of the GPS. ******* refused to bypass the GPS per ECars’ request due to ethical and legal obligations. With the tracker removed the following morning by ECars, there is no way to prove what damage was or was not done by the improperly wired GPS system.
    Sincerely,

    Sara ****

The GPS was originally installed 10 months before Ms **** purchased the vehicle. The previous owner had no issues with the GPS. Full inspection determined the no start issue was caused by improperly installed ignition switch (******* installed), a bad fuse, and the connector C1 was faulty. C1 connector is the wire between the engine control module (ECM) and the ignition switch.

Again, eCars made all attempts to satisfy Ms. **** in December 2021 when she filed a consumer complaint with the district attorney.

Upon her refusing the offer to surrender the *********** in full satisfaction and demanding more, eCars took the next steps to pursue collections for the Deficiency balance owed, any question regarding the balance owed please contact **** ****** office.

    Sincerely,

    Ecars LLC.
