This company was hired to do plumbing on a new construction. Not only did they steal tools from the site (unfortunately cannot be proven), their employees flooded our home. The company had to come back out multiple times to complete the job in full, including the hooking up of the dishwasher. While hooking up the dishwasher, the water connection was not secured properly. This resulted in the flooding of the kitchen under the island, as well as the basement below. No attempts were made to assist with cleanup. Two dehumidifiers were delivered afterward (that day) and were used. There was no attempt to make the situation right, specifically with a discount to accommodate for the time spent cleaning the mess. When we asked for an itemized bill, we were threatened with a lien on the home within 48 hours if we do not pay and return their dehumidifiers. Secondly, they falsely advertise a veteran’s discount. This was denied when we asked for it as advertised.

    Response to Customer Complaint:

Allgeier Plumbing was hired through a contractor for the complainants’ new construction home. Therefore, we work for the contractor directly. However, the contractor passed away unexpectedly during the building process. Instead of backing out of the contract and abandoning the homeowner, we decided to uphold our plumbing contract and complete the job. This was discussed with the homeowner and a mutual agreement was made. During the entire time that Allgeier Plumbing was providing services for the complainants’, the owner or Office Manager was never notified of any tools being stolen. If so, it would have been addressed and the situation resolved. A problem cannot be fixed if it isn’t brought to our attention.  We did have to return to the home several times to complete the job.  The customer asked to be able to provide their own fixtures to save money and get what they wanted. The customer had a faucet that they wanted us to install and when we showed up to install it, it was not one that would fit. We had to leave and wait for them to purchase the correct one, thus causing multiple trips.  The customer did ask for an itemized bill and it was provided in a timely manner. They asked for discounts on the bill. One discount was that the homeowners said that they would hook up the main water which would have given them a $500 discount. Allgeier Plumbing still had to go back to the home to drill a hole through a concrete wall, add copper line and secure the line in place with cement and add the proper connections.  During these multiple trips, we did not charge them for our time or labor even if the issue was due to them. Allgeier Plumbing went out to hookup the dishwasher. Once it was installed, the technician turned the water back on and did not see any water coming from the unit. Once the homeowner arrived back home, she called and told the technician that the whole house was flooded. Between the time of the homeowner calling and the technician immediately returning, they had already cleaned up the mess. The technician and owner were both onsite. What our company found was a puddle on the basement floor and water on the cabinets that incased the dishwasher.  The water on the cabinets was minimal and it was noted that all they needed was a fan to be placed so that the water would dry. The homeowners were worried about the subfloor, so our technician went into the basement with a ladder and inspected around on the subfloor. No moisture was detected.  Allgeier Plumbing purchased and installed two humidifiers to help with the drying out of the “flooded” home on the same day. Secondly, we do not “falsely” advertise our Military/First Responder Discount. This is a discount specifically given for our service side of the company, which was explained to the homeowner. The homeowner stated that he understood.  As the owner of Allgeier Plumbing, I feel that I have been more than generous with this couple. I have given discounts even when they still needed us to complete the jobs that they were trying to save money on, making multiple trips out to the home to install fixtures that they purchased and were incorrect, not charging them for time and labor for the trips and buying humidifiers to dry out a house that had very minor moisture damage. I have placed several calls to the homeowner and they have never answered or called back.  It has been almost two weeks since my bill was sent to them. We were hired to provide a service; we did the said service and have not been paid. I asked for a payment within 48 hours and the response was “It will be in the mail”.  I have yet to receive payment or a phone call to discuss the situations.
