  On or about August 9th, 2024 we verbally agreed to a scope of work with this company that included four small scopes of work including: cleaning the front gutters and rear gutters of our townhome; reattaching a section of gutter that had pulled away from the facia boards; trim one tree in the front of the home that overhangs the gutter; and lastly, the installation of gutter guards for the front and back gutters. The business owners quoted a total fixed-price of $1,400.00, if we paid them in cash. My wife withdrew $1,500 from our checking account and when the owners told us the work was complete, she met and paid them the total amount agreed upon, $1,400.00. On or about August 12th, 2024 our roofing contractor came to quote the shingle roof replacement and while he was on the roof he noted the gutters were not properly reattached to the facia boards, he also noticed that the gutter guards were not installed on the rear gutters of the home, and the front gutter guards were only partially complete. Furthermore, he measured the gutter guards that were installed and determined those installed were the incorrect size and too small to be effective. The NKY Gutter Cleaner installed 4" gutter guards on my 5" inch gutters, making them completely ineffective for the intended purpose. My wife and I promptly called and questioned the owners of NKY Gutter Cleaners and they became defensive and made excuses about the incomplete work, only after we discovered they were less than honest about the completion and the shortcuts that were discovered after they were paid and said the job was complete. We made a demand they return $1,000 but they refused. The only satisfactory work was the tree trimming and gutter cleaning. There should bever be a demand for payment for services not performed. They didn't acknowledge not doing the work until they were caught in a lie they thought would never be discovered on the roof. Contractor lacks integrity and avoid doing business.
