  6/1 Transaction. Business hand writes ALL customer credit card numbers in a notebook that is stored publicly on a customer facing counter and also faces an open window where anyone could snap a picture of the credit card numbers. I mentioned the indiscretion and huge privacy violation to the business owner who didn’t seem to understand the issue behind this mode of storing customer payment information. This is not at all secure and I asked to physically remove my credit card data from the notebook which the owner reluctant allowed me to do. This business needs to be carefully reviewed for how they store payment information.

  To whom it may concern;

   I have a notebook at my desk for appointments for air brush . I started requiring a credit card to hold appointment which is put in computer.  The credit card info is shred after

  each appointment. What customer seen was my notebook of appointments, no credit card info available. Customer was told exactly how this was handled. I explained it several times. I also

  explain what to do for air brush and what not to wear which was not followed either.  Thank you *** *******

  I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ** ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below:

  I was able to read other customer’s full credit card numbers in addition to my own, visibly displayed for all to see whether inside or outside of this business. I brought this to the business’ attention while I was there and they didn’t seem to understand the huge privacy and security violation this posed. I also saw that the notebook in which my credit card info was stored was filled with prior customer’s credit card data. So in other words, this business is falsely alleging that these are shredded.

  Furthermore, the response I received from the business claims that I wasn’t following their instructions post appointment although I had followed them very carefully and this was not even part of my complaint. The business knows that their product and services are sub par.
  

  Frankly, this business needs to be investigated by your team and I would start with their customer credit card storage method.
