Went through 3 different lawyers or secretary's since I started my disability process at Harris Federal Law Firm. Gave them $6,000.00 and got the run around. I had to give all my information and paperwork to 3 people. I started with 1 then got another woman, then another woman. All asked for the same files, notes, Dr's records etc. They don't communicate with each other. They kept asking for newer Dr's notes, that I couldn't get because my Dr wouldn't give me any appointments for no reason. Nothing was wrong with me and was denied to go in for Dr's notes for no reason. My Doctor wrote 3 letters expressing my symptoms Ptsd, depression etc. None of the notes were good enough for the lawyers. My Doctor refuses to write another letter for the law firm. After explaining all this to Harris Federal. They sent me a certified letter stating they are no longer able to help me. They took my money and said they couldn't help me get the disability.

I do not recommend this law firm. They expect the disabled person to do all the leg work and only cite regulations over and over. No reason to pay a law firm that is only the middle man in the process.

Brad ****** talked to me several times about my scheduled award along with his legal secretary (that was no longer working there) and finally had the paperwork ready to submit and she quit/or fired (idk). No one at this office will answer or return a phone call. I have spoken with DOL and OWCP and NOTHING has been filed. It has been over a year that I last spoke with legal secretary. We signed a contract at the beginning of this process. I am in the process of speaking with 2 attorneys!

The OWCP process can be very long and we understand how frustrating it can be. We appreciate you letting us know your concern and we'd be happy to look into it further.

I would not use them if I were you. Their call person sold me on the idea of using them told me they can process paperwork quicker than I ever could. Furthermore, they had politicians in Congress they can rely upon. I had 8 mos to process a disability claim that was already accepted. Because they claim to be experts and can speed the process along quicker than I ever could I chose them. Turns out all they did was fill in the form letter and sent it in. Seriously, that’s all they did. They filled my biographical information in and sent the paperwork into my Human Resources. Here is where it gets bad. Obviously if you are reading this you are a federal employee so you know how slow the Fed gov works. Having said this, Harris Federal improperly filled out my paperwork. They forgot to check a box in regard to my spousal life insurance. Because of this, my paperwork got halted and just sat in a queue. Prior to this, I had been asking Harris for updates. Their response was I was still in processing. Only after I personally did my own investigations did I find out Harris filled the paper work wrong. So, the paperwork has to go back to Harris and the process gets restarted. This caused months of delay. Took 11 mos to process DQ’ing me from a 60/40. Not once did they call or even attempt to call OPM, HR, my own agency to get updates on the process. Apparently, that was my job. I had to Google all that in my own. When I asked them to utilize their Congressional contacts that fell on deaf ears. That part was a direct marketing lie. I tried to speak with Mr. Harris repeatedly. I was told he would call me on two occasions. That never happened. Again, I was lied to. Mr. Harris, please call me. I tried. This review was avoidable. Long story short, all they are going to do is be an administrative extension for you. If you want to pay them $4500 to fill in paperwork that is all you’ll receive.

    Harris Federal Law Firm Response

We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. We would like to clarify that our law firm does not claim to have any congressional contacts to speed up the Federal Disability Retirement application process. At Harris Federal Law Firm, we are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of legal representation and ethical standards. Applying for this benefit is overwhelming and often confusing, which is why we offer our services to help you through the application process. There are often long waiting periods while the OPM processes your claim and that can be stressful. If our legal advice is not followed we cannot help you obtain all of the benefits you may be entitled to

A fool and their money is soon parted. I used them and essentially became the fool. Don’t be a fool. Fill the paperwork out yourself and save $4500. That’s all they do is fill out the paperwork. They should truly be ashamed of themselves. They cannot speed anything along any more than you can yourself.
