I went to Home Center at 1148 South 4th Street in Louisville KY on Wednesday March 22nd. I was looking for a high top dinette set with chairs. I found a dinette set that I liked. I also picked out a rug. The purchase price was as follows: Dining table set with 4 grey chairs $799.99 Caipe rug 59.99 Deliver and set up 200.00 Total Price $1059.99 They ran my credit with Okinus. I was approved by Okinus for $5000 worth of credit. They will pay Home Center $1059.99. I think it is a rent to own company and I will pay $187.80 for 14 months for a total of $2629.20 which is a rip off in itself. I said to my self I am going to pay this company only $1059.99. My first payment was due 4/17/23 mine you 14 payments are required. I have excellent credit and I could have had a $50 a month payment at Value City or Ashley. Why did I come here?? I discussed delivery for the next day. (Thursday morning March 23rd) They could not give me a time, they just wrote it can be the first delivery works at 3:30 pm. To make a long story short. They showed up at my apartment at 9:00 pm to deliver furniture. Two strangers who spoke no english. I was at work and I did not agree to let them come in my apartment at 9:00 pm. There were two more attempts to deliver the furniture. Both instances I had to be at work or was already there. The furniture was delivered and I have paid the furniture off within 3 months same as cash. I am 71 years old, a black woman with a cane. I went into this office and spoke to the manager and he would not work with me. He was rude and unprofessional. I called again in May or June about the chairs and the legs not being attached correctly and the manager again was rude, he would not even talk to me said I did not have a warranty. Beware and do not purchase any thing from this Home Center on 4th street Louisville KY. I believe I was discriminated because of my age and race.
