The way cornerstone manages Stonehenge Condominiums is completely outdated. They allow indoor and outdoor smoking, that degrades the value of our property because we all know that people avoid purchasing property/ homes that have been exposed to cigarette smoke. I have a smoker neighbor and the smell from her cigarette smoke stinks up my whole unit, it gets in our hair, clothes, furniture, etc. I reached out to property management regarding this issue and was told to sue my neighbor if I had a problem with the cigarettes smoke/smell. Secondhand smoke is not only a nuisance but a serious health hazard. It affects our quality of life and safety. Smokers are not a protected class and it is not illegal to prohibit smoking (indoor and outdoor), there are laws and bans against these practices, however, Cornerstone Management has not updated its policies and seems to prioritize smokers rights to smoke wherever they want over everyone else’s health and right to breathe clean air. This specially bothers me because I have children, one being a baby and because of these outdated policies my children are constantly exposed to second hand smoke, even when walking in and out of our building. We have been getting sick constantly and have shortness of breath due to second hand smoke exposure through the central air and heat. The fact that Innocent children and non-smoking residents are exposed to second hand smoke is wrong and is banned in most places for obvious heath concerns that Cornerstone Property Management chooses to ignore.Cornerstone Property Management, LLC Response

Stonehenge is a Condominium, governed by a Master Deed. Cornerstone is the management company, we monitor compliance of the Master Deed and work within the guidelines set forth our Management Agreement and the Budget. We do not set policy and cannot impose smoking restrictions. There are currently no laws restricting smoking in residential condominiums, and no language in the Stonehenge Master Deed that restrict smoking. We understand your concerns and will bring your issue about smoking to the Stonehenge Board of Directors. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please give my office a call.Review from R. I bought a condo and there are instances where I have been treated unfairly, verbally attacked and called a liar. First, work was done in front of my condo. Mgmt asked us to move our vehicles so I parked in a spot that was NOT marked “no parking nor marked with yellow lines”. I go out and a ticket was on my vehicle stating if it was not moved it would be towed. I was advised the address to the car came back to a different address; however, I had not had time yet to get my address changed but if they looked me up as condoowner then my name would have showed up as a owner and the threatening ticket would not have been needed. Secondly, I put lights beside my pathway so I could see at night because I have blind spots in my vision. I came out my door and all the lights were taken up. When I emailed I was advised lights are not allowed. If I violate these rules then I would receive a 250 fine for each item. Later I received meeting minutes and it said absolutely no lights; however, neighbors all around me have lights but nothing was done to them. Then recently I made a payment to cornerstone which I have since I moved in; however, it was refunded. When I talked to the company that takes the payment I was advised I needed to call Cornerstone. So I called cornerstone and was put through to several people. The co- owner Tammy told me I was spoken to, received several refunds and advised “we are trying to get “you people” when in fact no one had spoken to me although they adamantly claimed they had spoken to me which was a lie and I had proof of every email and phone log showing no emails or calls. Only email I received was this first refund email which made me call. I asked for an apology; however, Melinda stated I was treated with professionalism and integrity which is so far from the truth. Pull the phone recording and you’ll see the truth. I am feeling singled out and feel this is a hostile and threatening environment. Professional and integrity- not trueCustomer Response

Regarding the parking incident, all owners in the area where construction work was being done received a notice asking them to move their vehicles to other areas in the community to give workers room to perform the drain apron work and to avoid inconvenience to the residents if their vehicles were needed during construction. Ms. H*** moved her vehicle to a spot that is historically known as a NO PARKING area, but it is not marked and given that Ms. H*** is new to the community, she did not know she should not park there and parked in a No Parking zone. After the work was completed, Ms. H*** did not return her vehicle to her normal spot and her vehicle remained parked in the NO PARKING space. Consequently, Ms. H***** vehicle was issued a citation/tow notice. As an added courtesy to the owner of the vehicle, a notice was sent to all owners (see attached) asking if anyone knew who the vehicle belonged to. No one replied. Ms. H*** contacted me, I am assuming once she saw the email, upset, and after I heard her side of the matter, I did apologize to her as I certainly understood both sides. The parking area she used is now painted NO PARKING so that this situation does not happen again. Regarding the landscape lighting, Ms. H*** is required to submit an exterior alteration request for any modification she would like done in a common area. She does not own any area outside of her unit and cannot make alterations without approval. This requirement is specifically stated in the governing documents of the community that owners agree to when they purchase a unit in the community. The landscape lights were removed because they were not approved. I am not aware of any other landscape lighting in the community, but, if there are, she should report them and if the lights have not been approved, they will also be removed. We did not call you a liar, we did not say “you people”. We were not hostile - we were trying to explain to you that ever since you moved into Stovall Place you had set up your monthly payment to the wrong company. You should be paying Stovall Place, not Cornerstone. This is an automatic, online payment that goes directly into our bank account. As a courtesy we did not return the payment and we wrote a check from our account and deposited it into your Association’s account and applied that to your account. We mailed you a notice letting you know you set up your online payment incorrectly and explained what we did on your behalf. The notice instructed you to change your online payment, so it goes directly into your association’s account, not ours. You apparently did not get the notice, because it happened again a second and third time. After a few months of this we stopped your online payment into our account and reversed it back to your personal account. This happened two months in a row until you called our office to see why your payment was returned. It appears the January payment was corrected and processed directly to the Association's account, thank you.Customer Response

Please listen to the recording because that is not true. Of course you’re making it sound like I am at fault for everything bad that happened to me. The recording will show that the people I spoke to were hostile, accusatory and did state “you people” so That is a lie. We were told not to park in the area while under construction and I didn’t and the area that was being worked on is directly in front of my condo. I did not go out of my house for two days and on the third day was when I found the citation and started the complaint on my side because the spot was not marked in any way shape or form. I never received and email asking if anyone knew who the car belonged to so how would I know it needed to be moved. I have complained about lights and I did receive an email with meeting minutes that said no lights are allowed at all. So submitting a form is a non issue since no lights are approved at all per meeting minutes. This association was accusatory and rude to me and I feel attacked and feel this is a hostile environment. If we were to go to court then the recording, emails and phone call records would be submitted into evidence which will prove the truth. So do not pretend I am at fault for all these incidents. I have been treated unfairly, attacked, treated rudely and don’t appreciate the harassment.
