PPM accepted money for application and background check for a rental, then closed the listing and don’t have a way to contact them now. It was a $60 scam, with no recourse because you can’t contact them. Additionally, they check your credit, meaning they’re collecting very personal info. This should be handled with care and if they’re willing to close a listing without so much as a phone call or email letting you know prior to your back ground check completing they’re going to close the rental does not make one feel particularly confident having given such sensitive info out. I don’t think it’s ethical to take money for background checks if you’re closing the listing before the background check is complete.

    Hello,

We have no charges or an application for anyone by that name!

I would suggest checking the bank to confirm $60 was withdrawn, our app fee is only #30 per person.

    Thank you.

      ********** 20190000

I am rejecting this response because:

the business did not attempt to make things right, they’ve only doubled down. If needed, I have the screen shots individually. They have not responded to the email I sent them.

    Sincerely,

Prestige Property Management also known as PPM LLC, Employee or Owner named, ***** ********* listed a 3 bedroom apartment on **** **** ********* *** available for rent $995 a month with a $100 deposit on ********************* website and on their website ppmlouisville.net She responded back that no one qualified for it yet. I told her I was still interested and I paid the credit and criminal check Unfortunately, they took my $30 fee and replied back via email that they do not own or rent any properties on West Jefferson Street and said "sorry" to me. In their first email, they lied and said we are going to run your credit and criminal checks. However, in their second email, they said they didn't know which property I was applying for and didn't run my credit checks yet. They lied because I indicated via email that I was interested in **** **** ********* ****** apartment. On June 30th at 9:49am, I contacted my credit card company and I filed a dispute against PPM LLC Prestige. I'm seeking my $30 fee back on a non-existent property that they advertised for rent on the 2 websites mentioned above. I also need for them to please stop with their false advertisements. They are taking hard earned individuals money like myself who are desperately seeking housing to rent. ***** ********* is wrong for doing this to me. I work and I receive Section 8 Housing to help ** ******** and myself to have housing. I now feel that she may be discriminating against me because I receive Section 8 Housing. ***** replied via email that she can provide transaction number regarding my credit and background checks. However, she has given me anything by email and I have not received anything from Transunion. I should have know the information she gave me was a red flag after I asked her how long does it take to get a credit report back. She replied 30 minutes. That was a red flag that something is wrong. An apartment Manager told me it usually takes 3 or more days to get a report back. Thank you.
