    I have been coming to this Laundry since February 2021. It's poorly maintained and there's broken equipment overall the place. My biggest problem is that there is NEVER an attendant here to monitor the washer or help customers. I have lost $10 in both the washers and dryers since I've started coming here When I called the number flashing number on the board, the man ALWAYS says,"I'm in Chalmett", or Gonzalez or anywhere that's NOT near, in, or around this washer. Then I have to dip into either my bus fare or eating money to dry or wash my clothes in another machine because NO ONE is here to refund my money. I'M SICK AND TIRED of business owners taking advantage of poor black people!!!!! on Wednesday November 23, 2022, I arrived here to wash my clothes @1:30 PM. I used a washer in the back where the broken machines are and put $2.75 in the washer. I put $1.25 in the dryer, which gave me about twenty minutes of dry time. When the dryer stopped, my clothes were still wet as if they weren't dried at all. I called the man and he told me he was in Gonzales. This happens ALL THE TIME AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!! I then pulled $2 from my bag to get more quarters and placed my clothes in dry 24. I remember this clearly because this had happened several times before and the man on the phone told me to put a blue piece of tab on the machine.

    We purchased this laundry mat from a previous owner in 2017. It was in deplorable condition. We had to completely gut the place and start over. The mat did not open until September 18, 2019.  We are open every day of the year, including all holidays, unless there is a hurricane or an electricity outage. My husband, a retired 23-year Air Force veteran, went into the commercial laundry maintenance business in 2005. He has a business where he installs and repairs commercial washers and dryers across the state of Louisiana and some in Mississippi. It took us a year and a half to rebuild Laundry Land. My husband worked after hours along with his cousin to get the remodeling ***e. During the reconstruction, we dealt with a cancer scare, major surgery, and a major repair to our home. Then, covid hit. *** disinfects the mat twice a day, we supply hand disinfectant, and run UV lights after closing. We still have work to be ***e on the mat and plan to expand. We also hope to be able to afford to hire an attendant soon and provide wash and fold. There are very few laundry mats that have attendants much less full-time attendants. The only full-time attended mat that we know of in a 10-mile area is at LSU. We have the lowest prices on our machines in the area. I grew up in this neighborhood. My parents lived in the neighborhood until 2010. We would never dream of taking advantage of anyone regardless of race, creed, or color. *** cleans up inside and outside of the mat every day. I will admit that he needs to move machines that are in the back of the mat and I have told him to do so. We try to make sure that the place is secure. We have monitored cameras inside and outside. We also place washing instructions throughout the mat. People use way more detergent than necessary. Too much detergent will cause the clothes to not wring out as well and it will take longer to dry them. Not to mention that they will still have detergent in their clothes.  
    The customer with the complaint called *** about the dryer issue two separate times. The first time, *** was at work in Chalmette. He told the customer that he would meet him around 8:30 that night at the mat to reimburse him the money that he lost in the dryer. The customer did not show up. Then the customer called *** another day, while he was working in Gonzales, about a dryer issue. *** said he would meet the customer at the mat in approximately an hour. The customer did not respond. The customer hung up on ***. How can we rectify the situation if the customer does not show up to get reimbursed? We are not aware of the customer having a washer issue. We are only aware of the dryer issue. We have always reimbursed a customer on the same day or the next day at the latest. Our customers are very kind and understanding. For those that used the laundry mat before we purchased and remodeled, they are very happy with the way the place looks now. We will reimburse the customer $10.00. He might wish to find another laundromat with a full-time attendant such as Cyclone at LSU to fill his needs.

    Better Business Bureau:

    They can mail me a money order to my address  I provided to the BBB. I have no intentions of coming back there
