    BBB unable to locate business
I had my 2007 Jeep towed to Cork automotive on Cameron Street in Lafayette in July 2021. I kept calling about the car and was told each time that parts were slowed because of COVID. I went over there to remove the License Plate because I cancelled the insurance (I did not realize when I first brought the car there that it would take so long so i kept insurance) At that time nothing had been done to the car. The next time I went over there the business was gone. A nearby business told me Corks had to move. I called them and was told they would repair it and was given the new location. The last several times I called i was switched to another phone number. There was no answer. Then last week the phone was disconnected. I want my car returned .

I had my car towed to Corks in July 2021;  In early August 2021 Corks called and said they could fix the car.  We went to Corks and signed a paper agreeing to pay cost; there was no downpayment.  I have no paperwork. I would like my car returned to me.  Corks appears to be out of business.  The building where Corks was located in Scott, LA  where the car was towed to is empty.

We dropped our son's car off 5 months ago, and then called to check on it every two weeks. We were given extremely detailed updates every time we called. Forward progress always appeared to be happening. After a long time of anticipation we began to call more frequently. After several days of calling, with no answer, we finally received a call back. An office worker informed us that the owner was injured and complications caused him to be rushed to the hospital. She also informed us that they were recently evicted from their original building and moved to a new location in a different city. They've moved the entire business including our vehicle to the new location. This was rather concerning, so my husband went to the new location to survey the situation only to find that nothing, I mean absolutely nothing besides relocating it, had been done to my son's car. Everything that was told to us, week after week, by Mr.Cork and his staff was a lie. They literally made up stories to tell us, detailed explanations, of services that never happened. Then, my husband sees the owner there working and confronts him with the story we were told about being injured and hospitalized. Mr. Cork explained that he did have an injury, but it had happened some time ago. Mr. Cork didn't know why his office staff told us he was rushed to the hospital for other complications. When my husband asked him why he lied to us over the past 5 months about the car repairs, Mr. Cork would only say, "I wish I could explain that to you." We have requested a refund of our $1300 down payment.
