    If I could give it zero stars I would. I ended up getting pulled over 3 times because they lacked to do their job and report my insurance to penndot. It also happened to my coworker and the cops ended up pulling his plate and he had to go to court to get it back. They ended up dropping it since it was the generals fault. Horrible insurance. If you choose them make sure they do their job and report your insurance to the state.

    Ive been with THE GENERAL for almost a decade, and within the last year Ive had nothing but issue after issue and its all customer service related. I bought a new vehicle, and traded in a vehicle at the end of January 2024 I called THE GENERAL and the representative appeared to understand my needs. I clearly told the rep that I wanted to take off one vehicle and replace it with another, and that I was at the dealership at that moment trading in a vehicleThe rep assured me that she adjusted my account to reflect the change.Two months later, I get a HUGE bill triple my normal rate. I called THE GENERAL to voice my concern, the rep was confused at why my rate had ballooned. She speculated that insuring the newer vehicle made my rates go up but also that the vehicle I traded in was still on my policy. Once again I was reassured that the vehicle would be removed moving forward, and to pay the higher premium until the underwriters adjust my policy accordingly. So I reluctantly paid the higher premium.The next month I received a premium notice of even higher rate. I call THE GENERAL again to find out what was going on, the rep researched my previous interactions, and apologized about the confusion she and told me that that the vehicle was still on my policy and that the previous reps failed to remove the vehicle, and underwriting had not made a decision on how to or what credit would be issued in the overpayments. Once again I was reassured it would be handled.The following month I get another high bill, and I call, and was told to pay half, so I did and was put on an expedited review of my policy.The next month here we are again, high premium, now with the threat of cancellation I call back, given the reassure story then the following week I pay the higher premium again, the very next day i go online to check if they adjusted anything I get POLICY CANCELLED DUE TO NON-PAYMENT WTF???????I wonder if SHAQ knows how bad THE GENERAL is treating people.

    Their policys on how they take reports from the insured is unprofessional. Once they contact the other person to get their report, they are very delayed on processing and completing!

    The General ************** is very misleading with pricing and coverage. I signed up with The General in October and payed $370.94 for 25,000/50,000 coverage. Then when November payment was to be made, they stated I needed to pay $452.29. I inquired as to why this was so high and they stated because I had a total loss payout on another car from a different car insurance agency. I provided documentation that this vehicle was not mine as it was my sons car and he was not on my insurance. As well as the accident report I provided stated this was not my son's fault as the other driver ran a red light and struck him per dash cam footage.This accident should not play a part in my insurance rates. Then in speaking with a **************** Representative **** (ext ****) she worked with underwriting to adjust our rates accordingly. The rate was then dropped to $385.16 for the month of November 2023 in which we paid on December 01, ****************************************************************** November, we also had been told by **************** that our rates were the $452.29 due to an accident my husband had on his driving record. It was told to the representative that this was a hit and run and we had the accident report to state this. There was also dash cam footage showing another car clipping my husband and fleeing the scene.So more documentation was provided to The General containing the accident report for my husband as well as both of our driving abstracts showing we have clean records except for one accident that is on my husband record where he was hit from behind. Now The General is stating if we do Not pay $452.29 by December 29, 2023 our policy will be cancelled. There is no reason as to why they keep increasing our rates. I inquired again as the price hike and was told that due to a accident payout this is our rate? All proper documentation was provided and rates lowered. Why do they keep increasing our rates. We have clean records!!
