I spoke with Mr.***** to come to my home to remove two trees and a limb from another tree that was close to my fireplace chimney. We discuss the price and he accepted the job. All went well at the beginning he cut and removed the first tree from the front yard next he removed the limb close to the chimney and removed the debris The second tree was located at the rear of the property behind a detached garage close near the property line. Mr. ***** had his crew start the job on the second tree removal which was laying on the garage. On that day they cut and removed all of the top of the tree that laid on the garage, however during the process some of the cutting fell behind the garage. They haul off all the debris in the front of the garage. Mr. ***** informed me (*******) that since it was so wet in the area he would have to access the property he would come back and complete the job. I call Mr. ***** on several occasions he did come out twice where he attempted to try and cut the a portion of rest of the tree by himself with no crew however he was not successful. Upon his return I question him about all the debris that was of large cutting that fell behind the garage that would make it impossible for anyone I hire to repair the rear of the garage and it pose a safety issue also. Mr. ***** came out with a large peace of equipment and begin moving the large cutting among the cutting were some other debris which he moved on the other property behind my garage. Mr. ***** never stated at any time to me that he was doing extra work. Also it would have been hard for him to remove all of the large cutting he left behind and the big root of the tree with all that intertwined in the area. He stated he would come and cut the rest of the tree down on that day however when I called him and we spoke he said since he did extra work he was finished and he would not be coming back. He change the agreement of the original contract at this point. I decided to hire Mr. ***** because he stated he could have the tree taken off my garage and cut it down and stand up the base of the tree

    Business response

Response to Miss ******* via BBB. There is some truth the her story. My company had a contract in writing for this project. I am the owner, state licensed arborist LA 2628-24. I was on project complete time. I told her and is on contract that we could and did remove tree from building. The tree fell from adjacent property that stays flooded nearly year round making it difficult for us to access tree base. There was no guarantee that tree would stand back up as it had large root ball attached. I made her aware numerous times and went back 4 times and managed to cut trunk to a height of approximately 8’. She opted to have me remove 25’ of rotten fence, pick up several piles of broken cement and move to back corner of her yard. We also removed 1/2 of tree at no charge near her fireplace. Additionally, we removed a tree in the front yard for $1,000 that should have been 3,000. Unfortunately I had to put a stop to her unreasonable demands. This is a case where I had to make a decision that nothing was going to please Ms *******. She is the 1st client in last 16 years to take such unfounded measures. I have no ill will towards her. I have a limit on how much I let any client abuse me or my workers.
