Property manager refuses to answer texts or phone calls regarding deposit on apartment that was transferred when sold. Will not give me access to get left behind belonging after agreeing upon meeting me there to get it. He took keys from me while I was moving out & told me not to come back without permission so that I would not get interfere with business of him renting the apartment. numerous times in the past we have asked for a copy of the new lease agreement & were never presented one

    Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/05) */ To whom it may concern, In regards to the deposit the tenant never paid their late fees and their late charges including cleaning fees are in excess of the deposit. In addition, the tenant stayed after the lease expired. Due to personal items being left behind in the unit, we had delay new tenants from taking possession of the space. This result in loss of potential income. The "table" was picked up 20 days after the lease had already expired. The time and effort put into this tenant and trying to collect rent without any repayment forced us to lose each month in loan payments. We manage over 150 units across Louisiana and Texas and are management team is responsible for responding, but formal complaints need to emailed to get routed to the correct department. *******@sellyourhouselc.com Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/07) */ I sent a screenshot in regards to his claims which are false. He claimed he had been out of work & that's why we had gotten no response almost a month of asking questions about table & deposit. We cleaned the apartment before vacating. Cleaning fees were never in agreement with our original lease agreement. We asked multiple times for a copy of the lease when they bought the duplex & were never presented with one. They never fixed anything in apartment when we would ask. They mowed grass maybe once which lawn maintenance was supposed to be handled by them per claimed lease agreement from previous owners. They never kept up with anything. It has been nothing but a hassle with them & made the rest of my stay there very uncomfortable. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/06/08) */ To whom it may concern, Even if all the claims were true, those reasons do not excuse the tenant from paying rent on time. In addition, paying the occurred late fees. Upon inspection, the apartment had no major functionality issues. In conclusion, late fees and personal belongings are the tenants responsibility. We hope you can understand our position, thank you! Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/06/10) */ if there an issue then why were they never pointed out to us when we did pay rent? We never got a message from y'all regarding "late fees". what was the purpose of sending me & my roommate a text separately saying you would let us know when we would be getting our deposit back after having received the complaint? your timeline isn't backing you up. I will gladly take this to Small claims court if that is the route I have to take. Also have messages from property management saying he would be waiving fees some months from when I had covid & other times for my roommate when she gave her reasons. Other times when we paid rent, not once did y'all ever mention that we left out fees. seems to me that it was intentional just to keep the deposit Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/06/13) */ To whom it may concern, As per the lease there are late charges each time rent was not paid on time. The tenant was made well aware of being in default of their lease. With late payments made we are at a loss in excess of the deposit and for the record would counter sue.
