    I am a resident of Frances Place Apartments and on Friday April 19th, apartment management entered my apartment while I was out of town at 11:26am and exited at 11:32am, per the time stamp from the ring doorbell I have outside my apartment. After apartment management exited my apartment they failed to properly lock my door which then opened on Saturday April 20th at approximately 2:19pm. Since I was out of town I was not aware my apartment door wasn’t locked/that my door had been blown open by the wind until I returned to my apartment at 6:34pm on Sunday April 21st. When I first arrived to my apartment and saw my door open I was obviously very alarmed and had not been in my apartment since I left on Friday April 19th at 11:17am. I immediately put down the items I had in my hands outside my door and went in my car as I had no clue why my apartment door was open and if anyone was inside. The office was immediately alerted of this situation as I wasn’t to enter it until it was checked. A few minutes later the same apartment personnel that hadn’t properly locked my door upon leaving it on April 19th arrived to check it. Upon meeting them on the stairs of my apartment I was informed by them that “the wind had been bad” so if I hadn’t shut my door good enough it probably blew open. I immediately informed them that I was in-fact not the last person to exit my apartment and that it had actually been them. I was not met with any apologies for this unacceptable act of negligence done by them. However, I was scolded by them immediately after I had stated this that, “I don’t need to leave *this* out”, in which they were referring to the items I had set near my door when I first arrived to my apartment open door. The fact that this situation even occurred is completely unacceptable. The further ignorance of staff to not even apologize or acknowledge the gravity of the situation just reassures me that I should not feel safe to live in a community that is ran by these individuals.

    Frances Place Apartments is ran by Sunquest Properties, they are the property management and are supposed to deal with tenant issues, collect rent, and handle maintenance and repairs for the apartment complex. They own a few different properties in the area.

    A note was posted on the resident’s door on Monday April 15,2024..  This note stated a pre-move out walk was scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2024. The resident called the office to ask for this to be changed to Friday April 19, 2024.  The morning of Friday April 19, 2024,   I went to do the pre-move out walk; however, no one was home.  I then entered the apartment and conducted the pre- scheduled walk.  On Sunday April 21,2024, at around 6:50 pm, I received a call from the answering service stating the resident in apartment 36 wanted someone to walk through her apartment with her because her door was open.  I actually live on the property, so I immediately walked over to the apartment.   Once I arrived at the apartment, I did not see anyone.  I then called the answering service back at around 6:54pm.  At this time, the answering service put the resident's mother on the line.  The mother stated her daughter was sitting in her car.  As we both approached the front door,  I noticed dog food sitting beside the door therefore, I mentioned that she could not leave dog food outside.  She explained that she had just set it there and would pick it up.  I said, "oh, okay".  I entered the apartment with the resident walking behind me.   I searched through the apartment checking it to make sure no one was there.  I also asked her to let me know if she saw anything out of place or missing.  She didn't respond.  I mentioned it had been very windy and it was possible that the wind could have blown the door open if it was not shut properly. I asked her if anyone else had been there and she stated no. At this time, I had no idea that the resident had been out of town and was just returning. She was very quiet when I left. I am very sorry this happened to her.

    We have been without hot water for almost 2 weeks now. After countless calls and promises each day that it will be fixed we're still being inconvenienced with cold water only. Not only is it unsanitary but not fair to have to pay rent and deal with this ongoing issue. We live in ** ****** **** in lake Charles,la.
