    On 28MAR2024, I was involved in an accident on US Hwy 61 at LA10. The car was a total loss and needed to be towed. Feliciana Towing hauled my car to their storage location. I was transported to the hospital. When I went to retrieve my car's contents the next morning, all of my tools were gone. I had a tool bag, a tool box, jumper cables, and a Milwaukee Pex expanding tool kit ($600) in the car. All of that was gone. I asked the company representative, that escorted me through the content removal process, about it. She said that she did not know. The tow truck driver happened to drive up. He said it could have got thrown out of the car during the impacts. I told him I did not see it. I walked around the car several times after the wreck. After going through the pictures, I can clearly see the missing tool bag in the back of the car. It was definitely in there before the car was towed. Also, the other tool box would have been right under it with the PEX expander in between the front and rear seats. I called the company twice and still have not had the calls returned. I called the WF Sheriff's office. They went to the business and asked the owner. The owner said that he was out of town all weekend and does not know anything. The car has already been picked up by the insurance company. This company was very unresponsive and not willing to help at all with recovery. When consumers trust a business with their property, especially at such a vulnerable time, they expect much better care and responsiveness than this. I could never trust this company again.

    The customer who filed a complaint against Feliciana Towing & Recovery did so on the same day as his initial call to speak with the owner. Subsequently, he contacted the police department on the same day, reporting the absence of a singular tool bag and a specific tool. The customer did not allow for a 24-hour response time from the owner and opted to release his vehicle to unknown parties while maintaining that the items were missing, without notifying us of this fact. During his presence at the location, he mentioned only being without his PEX tool and speculated that he may have left it at a rental property he was working on. Despite this, he consciously chose to release his vehicle for removal without allowing a thorough search for his claimed missing property.
    The vehicle was deemed a total loss, its rear portion open with items strewn about the crash site and numerous bystanders present. There exists a strong possibility that his belongings were dispersed during the incident and potentially collected by others. The official impound sheet from the sheriff's office, provided upon pickup, indicated the absence of any valuable items within the vehicle, referring specifically to items with resale value such as tools, electronics, and jewelry.
    To date, the customer has not substantiated his claim that his tools were in the vehicle upon its transfer to our truck. Furthermore, his list of allegedly missing items continues to expand with each communication. The involvement of the sheriff's office has not yielded any evidence of misconduct on our part.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    This business did not help me to investigate what happened to my property.  Their response is condescending and accusatory towards me.  I was in an accident, I notified them the next day, in person, that items were missing. I signed the papers they asked me to sign, one of which, i imagine was to release the car.  I am now getting blamed for that.  I called the business on 02APR2024 at 1154 and again made my complaint.  She told me that she would give the information to the owner.  I called again on 03APR2024 at 0815 and the same thing occurred.  As of today, there has been no attempt to call me.  I made my complaint with the West Feliciana Sheriffs Office.  When they contacted the business owner, he stated that he had cameras but they didn't store the recordings of that time period.  It seems that based on my complaints, the camera data would have been checked at that time?  As far as the items in the car, there were three tool containers that are missing, one of which was the PEX expander.  My list reflects exactly what we know to be items that are missing.  The list is not growing.  There is an accident picture, which both Saint Francisville PD and I have that clearly show one of the bags in the car as it sat at the accident scene.  Both SFPD and WFSO had the scene secured and nobody was taking anything out of the cars.  I stand by my complaint and based on their response, am further convinced that this is a place that I will never want to do business with again.
