I recently stopped at a rest area to put oil in my car. Unfortunately, I dropped my oil cap down into the engine and could not reach it. Obviously I was frightened about what to do because I had a long drive ahead of me to get home. Nervously, I drove around looking for a place that could help me...and luckily I found Gannem Motors In Burlington. "****" was very accommodating and helpful. I didn't have an appointment, but after a very short time period, **** asked me how he could help. I told him what had happened, and he then put my car on a lift and was able to find my oil cap. I was absolutely thrilled. The most amazing part was when I asked him what I owed him, he refused to charge me anything and simply said that he hoped that I had a good trip home. He was incredibly kind and pleasant. I tried to give him some money anyway, but he refused. That is very rare in ANY business. Many, many thanks to **** and Gannem Motors for saving the day for me. I came to Gannem Motors Inc in **********, ** with a 09' *** that was diagnosed by *** dealership for having some oil leaks, other than that the car was running fine and did not have a check engine light. I decided to also replace the water pump, thermostat, sparks plugs, and some fluid exchanges (coolant and transmission gear oil). I was told by Gannem the job would take a few days and about 7 - 8 business days went by and I was never updated. When I finally got the call that the car was ready, the check engine light was now on and the car had a very rough start and idle. The owner, **** at Gannem Motors told me that it should go off after driving it and the shaking is from dirty injectors. He also did not put any freeon in the ** compressor - so I happily paid for this, only to find out he did not have any freeon - I had to wait 2.5 hours. While driving home the car suddenly lost power and huge amounts of white smoke came from the tailpipe, which almost caused an accident. I had to pull over because I knew something was seriously wrong with the car and the check engine light never went out - this issue was not present before bringing the car to Gannem Motors. When I brought the car back, I found out that he does not have the correct equipment and scanners to work on ***s. I told him the car needs a proper diagnosis and that I would like to have someone else with the correct scanner figure out the issue.The second mechanic found out that the valve cover gasket was not installed properly. It was also discovered that that the breather tube valve was broken while working on the car (a part that does just break) - Gannem refused to fix the issue and gave me partial money back for labor. It was also discovered that the spark plugs were never changed and the parts were not given back to me. The the car was having multiple misfires, it took me months to figure out the trail of destruction left by Gannem Motors - and cost lot's more money to resolve all the issues.Gannem Motors Inc Response

We refunded the money to this person after he asked for additional services for free, after that he came back and asked us to commit fraud by adding services not rendered so he can get more money when selling the vehicle, when we refused, he went on to rate us with one star on ****** along with his fake accounts. I have evidence of the refund we gave him. We didnt want to deal with his scam, we have no resources to take him to court for slandering. We decided to cut our losses and move on but he continues to harass us by calling and threatening to destroy our business. He didnt stop and wont stop.Customer Response

I have only ONE account and made only ONE review on ******** if anyone ********* a review then they are probably, and most likely, telling the truth. I see that you respond "fake review" to my original review and others (this is something an incompetent businesses owner would do). A better way to help the business grow, and maintain a positive reputation, would be to address these issues by replying PROFESSIONALLY that you would like to help make things right or at least reply with "we did the best we could....", not calling your customer liars and accusing them of trying to commit fraud.I was refunded for the improperly installed part, but later found out that additional parts were improperly installed, some small parts were broken that would only happen if whoever took the car apart did not carefully pull parts. Also, parts that were purchased were never installed. In regards to your accusation of me "harassing" you, I made 3-4 phone calls on 3-4 different days during business hours and you would not answer my calls. I then used a co-workers cell phone and you picked up right away (red flag again). All I asked for was an updated receipt showing that you in fact did install spark plugs, which were purchased and given to you, you refused. Upon inspections from two different mechanics we found new issues that were not there, and spark plugs were never changed, causing misfires while driving, putting my life at risk causing me to pull over to side of road while driving, then I was without a car for weeks while all your work needed inspected. If I could upload documents here I would be adding them to show that you are not telling the truth - you have ZERO reasons to pursue legal action and I know for a fact that you would have no evidence to back up your claims. So please, stop and let me leave my reviews in peace and take this as a ****** learned. I purchased a 2008 ********** Passat Komfort from Gannem Motors Inc (Burlington Motors) in June 2022. Unfortunately, the vehicle has been plagued with persistent and ongoing issues since the time of purchase, which have significantly impacted its use, value, and safety.Despite multiple repair attempts, the issues have continued to persist, and the vehicle remains unreliable and unsafe. An inspection completed by ***************** ****** on 12/17/2022 and re-inspected on 12/30/2022 identified the need for $3,000 in repairs to ensure proper operation of the vehicle. Additionally, I had to purchase four new tires and a Halo Bolt Air ***** ************************ Kit with Tire Pump, which cost me an additional $1,024.93.I demanded a full refund for the vehicle from the owner **** Gannem but he refused to respond back to our repeated claims. As a result, I am now forced to pursue legal action/small claims case against him in the ********************* to recover the amount owed to me.My experience with **** and Gannem Motors has been extremely frustrating, and I would caution anyone against doing business with them. You bought a car with 30 days and **** miles warranty which we werent obligated to give you under ************* laws, after you or someone from your side changed the oil and cracked the oil housing, you called me and said that it will cost $3000 to fix, I agreed to fix it and charge you just the parts. After we fixed it, you demanded that we buy the car back for over $7000 because you were moving to ***** and will cost you a lot to ship it. When I told you that I can try to sell the car for you but I cant buy it back because things doesnt work that way, you started your journey on every social platform with your one star review. You threatened us with lawsuits, we had to stop all communication with you.Customer Response

Rather, I informed you that *****************, a reputable auto repair shop in ******, **, had completed an inspection of the vehicle and identified the need for $3,000 in repairs to ensure proper operation. I provided you with a detailed itemization of their findings and recommendations, and at no point did I demand that you cover the entire cost of the repairs.Furthermore, I would like to address your statement that you offered to try and sell the vehicle for me, but could not buy it back. In our communication on March 27th, I specifically mentioned the possibility of you buying back the vehicle without the additional cost of the repairs and new tires, which amounted to over $2,000. Your response was simply to suggest that I try selling the car myself. When I followed up with you two days later, I received no response.Despite numerous attempts to contact you via text and phone, I did not receive any response from you until after I emailed you with notice of litigation.
