On May 2nd, 2022, I, have signed the contract with AJT Home Improvements for the jobs which include kitchen and basement few changes were added to the project during the process. The contractor promised that the work will be finished in a timeframe less than two months and that I and my family have no need to leave the house during the renovation. As a result, our house has become inhabitable. 1.5 years passed since signing the contract and the work is not even finished. Company have made work only worth of $19k and claims it is $30k of work, plus I have never received my refund for electricity, because electrician is not competent. Kitchen cabinets were left outside under rain, and me and my family had to bring them in by ourselves. No one showed up from the company to take care of it. The new water heater installed still leaks through emergency water pipeline. During this time, we have suffered a family loss. The contractor continues violating the contract by not showing up for work. Half of the house is still unlivable, and we are left with no money to finish up the work after funeral. If we knew that it would have been such a nightmare, we would have never hired this company to do the work.

We signed for a home improvement project in March of 2023, we are 7+ months into project and contractor is not finishing the work. Contractor stated project was ***** weeks. We waited nearly 4 months for them to start working after multiple calls and e-mails went unresponded. We had to calm the surveying company as they never heard of the project and schedule the inspection sad they were not paid by vendor. Electrician/******* also stated they knew nothing of the project and hadnt been paid. Siding contractors havent worked in over 3 weeks based on needing 7 more j channels. This was supposed to be a 3-5 day project and we are now at over 6 weeks. Threatening to stop his contractors despite having received 85% of the total project payment to date. Contractor algas not finished a single portion of the contract. Been delayed significantly. Has the house exposed to the outside air. Vendors complaining they have not been paid.

This is false, job is 85 percent complete, and I am owed for extra work that the homeowner is arguing about paying for. Work is A plus top notch and all inspections have been passed that are required at this time. Where is BBB for contractors to complain about unappreciated work or consumers that drag out payments due? (Not specifically talking about this consumer but ...)

I met with ****** from *** on July 1st, 2022 to discuss a full bathroom remodel project. On 7/11/22 I signed an agreement for *** to complete this remodel and provided *** with an $8,000 deposit. According to ******, the permits would be pulled from the town ASAP and the project would begin in mid to late August. Never heard from ****** again. No permits pulled, no communication from anyone at ***. By ****, heard from *** (not ******) who said this project would begin soon. Never happened. I have sent repeated communications via the ************* website (Which *** uses to manage projects), through the *** website and calls to the company. Only heard from a staff member a couple of times. They began scheduling the project inline, but have moved it more than 10 times. Finally sent a certified demand letter to *** for them to return our $8,000 deposit. No response. Here we are on 1/30/23, no permits pulled, no remodel, no communication. At this point, doesn't appear I have any choice except for the District Court which is the next step unless ****** and *** respond to this complaint ASAP and return my $8,000. Any help from BBB would be greatly appreciated.

Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

[The request laid out in my complaint was for an immediate refund of the $8,000 deposit I made with AJT. I am not any longer interested for AJT to perform this work and have made alternative plans. The re-scheduling through Buildertrend has been going on since last fall with no communication from AJT. The attachment is a screenshot from a few minutes ago on Buildertrend. This project was scheduled to begin today, even though I sent a certified letter to AJT that I was no longer interested and requested my deposit back. The screenshot shows us still on the schedule for today and is timestamped later than this BBB communication stating we are "in Buildertrend scheduled for March". The scrrenshot dated 1/13/23 shows a start date of January 5 and an end date of January 12 in Buildertrend. Nobody ever showed up or even called during that timeframe. This process began on July 1st, 2022 and it is now mid-February of 2023. The only acceptable resolve from AJT at this point is a refund of my $8,000 deposit ASAP.

    Thank You,
