Business closed with one day notice although it had accepted my car for repair on 1/1224. They gave me no notice but luckily my insurance found out and let me know. Had to have car towed to another facility that I was told King Body Shop would pay for but the next day 1/23/24 they had closed and phone was disconnected. Had to pay for the tow myself.

On September 11, I dropped my car off for body work only on the very front of the roof. Their job was to repair paint on it. First off, they did a terrible job and did not prep the car to be painted, leaving ripples, bubbles, and rust that was supposed to be gone when the body work got done. Also, when I picked it up, my lights were left on and my battery was dead. Right now, thats the least of my worries. My trunk came out of the body shop with paint completely damaged! I have pictures of my vehicle before it entered the body shop. On September 13, I came back to get my car when they left the key for me. I noticed the trunks paint and even some of the back of the roof is now damaged. The following day, September 14, I went to drive the car to the Auto Body place to see if they can do something about it or know how it happened, since I know it wasnt there before. My battery was yet again dead.. Im not worried about the battery though.I took my other car and had pictures of the damages before and after. When I arrived, They were extremely rude, saying they didnt do anything, even when I showed them before and after pictures. They refused until I brought the car, so I bought a new battery and brought the car over. The manager, ***********************, looked and said he doesnt know what it was. He kept verbally fighting me about how they didnt do it. His stories did not add up though. He said he did not touch any of the rest of the car.. and then moments later he claimed he washed the whole car. After a while of him coming up with excuses, he flat out tells me to get a lawyer, and hes not doing anything. I follow him inside and then he tells me to he will call the cops. I begin to record. They were beyond rude, and even told me, get a lawyer, like you can even afford one.( I have this ON VIDEO!!! It will not let me add it into this but I am more than happy to email it if needed) I want this resolved and my car fixed. Thanks, *********************** ************

To whom it may concern.  I am responding to the complaint issued aginst King Auto Body.  First please note that ************** was not even the registered owner.  He was not a customer.  This was done for Safelite auto glass.  The customer was told at Safelight at the time he had his windsheild replaced to remove the tape after 2 hours.  He waited 2 days.  The tape peeled some of the paint off.  I was instucted to spot repair the compromised area only.  Safelite auto glass specifically explained exactly what was being done.  The rest of the roof has prior damage.  We not not instucted to repair the entire roof.  We did not do any work on any other part of the car.  We did wash it as a courtesy as we do for every vehicle and have never had any issue ever.  The trunk issue has nothing to do with the spot repairs done on the roof.  ************** and his friend were extremely standoffish and after trying to explain the just got more abusive.

Please Note there are my complaints about the paint on the year and make of that vehicle.  This is well documented online.   A classaction lawsuit against ****** was dissmissed.

Thank you  and please reach out with any other questions.

    Complaint: 18026255

I am rejecting this response. First of all, I, ***********************, brought the car to get repaired for my handicapped grandmother, ****************************
I have attached a video of the altercation between me and the owners. You can hear a worker saying that its the clear they put on thats bubbling on the trunk.
King Auto Body states they did not do the rest of the roof, but there is sap that was there before, that is now covered in clear coat. I attached an image proving this. The sap with clear coat is on the roof and trunk. There is also even a pine needle towards the back of the roof that appears to have gotten painted over, with clear coat.
They claimed they washed the whole car in the message, but told me in person the car was not touched once except the front of the roof. Keep in mind, the car was as dirty as when it was dropped off. The car even has some rust bubbling on the roof, where the damage was fixed, proving they did not even prep that area to fix it correctly. There wasn't even rust there before.
There is also overspray from clear coat all over the windows that I had to scrape off with a razor blade.
I was calm and collected the whole entire time until the owners started screaming at me and threatening me.
I have diagnosed PTSD, anxiety, and other medical conditions. I made him (*****) aware of this when he first started to yell and be rude. He did not care and continued to be overly agressive and defensive. After an employee had came outside to look at the car, that employee that was never involved suddenly started yelling and interupting the discussion I was having with ***********
They did admit the damage was caused while they had the car. I will NOT let this go. This cars roof was 100% rust free before all of this. It had small clear coat spots on the roof, but no rust. Now, 10/7, it has rust bubbling in the roof, im assuming from not being properly prepped and sanded, because the original tape line damage is still visible in the paint. They did a poor job at fixing the damage to begin with, and now caused more in the process. The trunk did not look like it did after it was there.
This is my grandmothers car, not mine. I just want the car properly fixed. I want the damages on the trunk and roof to be professionally repaired.

    Sincerely,

    ***********************
