We were scheduled to move into one of Teton managements mobile homes on sept 1st. we signed a lease, and payed the deposit. But the owners sister did a ****** search on my significant other and found an arrest summary from 2019. He was never charged and faced no consequences. She accused him of being a criminal and then terminated our lease. And when told that the way she did it was wrong. She switched her story and said its because of our previous rental history, AFTER we were already accepted, signed and payed !!!! And is giving us an insane amount of problems about getting our deposit back. Completely unprofessional kept hanging up on us when we were trying to figure this out. And when she was told that we would be reporting her to the owners. She said the owner is my brother. So now me and my family are homeless. And have no deposit because they still have it !

Attached are the applications for ******** and *****. As evidenced in the residential history section of the applications for both parties, they did not disclose their previous address at:

*******************************************, ****************************;******, ** *****, they both did not disclose this information on their application, and this is considered falsifying an application for renting and grounds for cancellation of the lease. Upon landlord verification, the landlord at *******************************************, ************ verified their residency ending in July ****. The reason the application was denied/lease was canceled is because accurate residential history was not provided, and the residential history of these applicants is not in good standing.

Furthermore, we wish to part ways professionally and have issued and mailed a full refund to the *************************** family. The printed copy of the check is attached. The tracking number for the check sent out today is below:

    9407 **** **** **** **** 53

Please feel free to contact me with any further questions,

  • Complaint Type:
    Service or Repair Issues
    Status:
    Resolved
I began a lease with Teton Management Corporation on July 15th, 2022 at ******** ************ Home Park in Oswego County **. The property contained a rodent infestation and was unfit for human occupancy. Rodent urine and f**** were embedded into the carpet resulting in a horrific smell. Teton Management initially instructed me to setup mouse traps as their answer to this issue. Only after I made significant complaints did they agree to only replace a small portion of carpet which failed to address the greater safety concerns. Furthermore, the unit I rented had a major building code violation - specifically regarding the 2nd means of egress (backdoor) that led to a straight drop to the ground approximately 4-5 feet. I explained that my small child could open doors and this was a serious safety issue and furthermore that my family could not occupy the unit until these safety hazards were addressed. Teton Management refused to acknowledge this as a serious issue. In retaliation against me, they surrounded the only entrance/exit with caution tape - blocking my entry to the unit. I was forced to notify local Code Enforcement to address this problem and issue a citation. Lastly, my lease specifically included trash removal - yet the property manager insisted that this was a mistake and told me on numerous occasions that I was to pay for trash removal myself. Teton Management Company has refused to acknowledge that the unit was not fit for human habitation and has refused to return my rent and security deposit. I did not spend a single night in this unit and had to rent a van to rapidly remove my possessions before they too became damaged by rodents. Teton Management continues to falsely claim that the unit was "move-in ready" when my lease began on July 15th yet, factually, this is untrue. I am seeking a return $1851.93 which includes security deposit ($1,100), rent for July ($613.22), and expenses related to the rapid relocation of my personal possessions ($138.71).

I will rescind my request for reimbursement for rapid relocation to allow the complaint to go ahead. My desired resolution is the return of my security deposit and July rent.
