On July 28, approximately 9:50 am I entered Family Dollar store #07330 to purchase a few items. I gathered everything I needed and proceeded to checkout. As I'm coming down an isle a customer is entering the same out with the pitbull dog. Needless to say it scared me terribly. I made it to the counter and as the cashier is ringing up my items, I asked her do you allow pitbulls in your store? She replied, yes. I mentioned it's not a service animal, what if somebody is attacked in your store. She replied, it would be on the owner of the dog. During the conversation I paid for my items, but I decided I would return them later. I didn't want to hold up the line so I decided I would come back later to return the items. I returned to the store approximately an hour later to return the items, I handed the cashier (Amira *****) receipt and put the items on the counter. She asked me what's the reason for the return. I stated, I don't want to spend any of my money in a store I don't feel safe in. She then stated my refund will be put on a Family Dollar gift card. I said I don't want to spend any money in Family Dollar, I want my money to go back to my original form of payment. I also stated Family Dollar has a 30-day money back refund policy with the receipt and the form of payment used originally. She's still refused to return the items and give my money back. I spent the rest of that day trying to get in contact with their corporate office that was incredibly difficult. I called number after number, all I got was hit this prompt, hit that prompt couldn't reach anybody. Finally I tried something else today and was able to get an email. I sent an email with my concerns but considering how hard it was just to get it I don't feel good that I'll get a response which is why I'm taking this step.
