Had signed up for the membership. I cancelled it and was told my last charge would be in September 2023. I confirmed this with them via email. However, they have continued to charge me membership fees and have not answered a single e-mail despite me attempting to contact them several times.Initial Complaint

Our game on 11/8 was listed as a forfeit by the other team so I did not attend. Much to my surprise, found out the next day it actually wasn’t so our team got the loss. These leagues are not cheap so requesting a partial credit for receiving misinformation this past week.Initial Complaint

We are currently registered in the league: Traditional Pickleball (2v2 Open) - Monday - *** ****** **** ****** (Lower East Side) - September 2023 As a group, we have played in a number of recreational pickleball leagues including ZogSports, and are extremely disappointed with the quality of this league. Please note the below grievances: The courts are not flat, which dramatically alters overall play in how the ball bounces. This also leads to increased risk of injury (sprained ankles, tripping, etc.) The courts are too close together. There is only 2 feet of space between the court we were playing on, and the court next to us. This led to multiple instances where we bumped into or were hit by other players on the court. This also dramatically increases risk of injury. There are obstructions near the court. On the court we played on, there was literally a big metal pole 6 inches from the side of the court. This also increases risk of injury and does not allow for proper play. One of the courts did not even have a real net. There were chairs in place of a proper pickleball net. This is unacceptable for a league that cost our entire team over $830. A single pickleball net can be purchased for $50 on ******. Overall, the above grievances are clear reasons as to why we feel uncomfortable playing in this league. The conditions provided by VoloSports not only create an unplayable environment, but an environment that greatly increases risk of injury for all players.Initial Complaint

On September 14, 2023, I registered for a pickleball league through the Volo mobile app. I received a confirmation email for my pickle ball league containing the receipt for my registration. Registering for this league cost $80. On October 22 2023, I was going through my credit card transactions and noticed that I was charged $36 from Volo in both September and October. The Volo mobile app says I also signed up for a Volo drop in pass on September 14, 2023. I did not sign up for this pass and I don't have an email receipt for any of these transactions. I emailed Volo customer service on October 22, 2023 explaining this situation and asking if there was any way I could be refunded the charges in September and October for the drop in pass. Customer service responded to me and said that the minimum amount of time for this pass is 3 months, so they have to charge me for November 2023 as well. Since I did not sign up for the drop in pass, I would like a refund for the charges from September and October and I want this pass canceled. Additionally, charging customers without a receipt or notification is a terrible practice. Had I received a receipt, I could have resolved this much sooner.Initial Complaint

On August 11, I enrolled and paid Volo Sports - NYC volleyball league program $137.5 and at the time of my enrollment, I was unaware that they would oversell a team designed for 6 players to a size of 10 players. Once I realized that this was not a mere data syncing issue, I reached out to the Volo Sports - NYC team to bring the issue to their attention. I communicated my concerns, highlighting the impracticality and adverse experience resulting from overcrowded courts during volleyball games. Regrettably, the response I received from the staff was unsatisfactory and failed to address the core issue. The staff members in question dismissed my concerns and suggested that the blame should be placed on other players' check-in procedures. Furthermore, they refused to consider a refund or take any meaningful steps to resolve the service problem. In response, I was informed that they had established a rule on their website that they can permit a "minimum" of 10 people in a team to participate in a 6-player-per-side volleyball game. Upon further examination of the Volo Sports website, I discovered that various locations within the Volo Sports network specify different "minimum" player requirements, ranging from 6 to 9 players. The inconsistency in these "minimum" numbers raises concerns about the rationale behind setting 10 players as a reasonable number for a team. This is particularly perplexing considering Volo Sports - NYC also allows for drop-ins if any team member is unable to participate. Despite receiving correspondence from Volo Sports - NYC, it is with great disappointment that I report having only received repeated refusals to entertain the notion of a refund or to address the critical overselling issue. In light of these circumstances, I kindly request a thorough review of this matter by the Better Business Bureau. It is imperative that Volo Sports - NYC acknowledges and rectifies this issue and provide a satisfactory and fair experience for all participants.Initial Complaint

I registered and paid to play in an adult basketball league and the company, Volo, canceled the league without prior notification. They refunded my registration fee in the form of a credit that can be used towards a future Volo purchase. As I don’t plan on ever patronizing Volo again, I would prefer a cash refund. It seems to be underhanded business to operate like this. Please assist me in getting my money back.Initial Complaint

In June of 2022 I signed up for a Volleyball league hosted by Volo Sports. They charged me $77.58. They then cancelled the league. Rather than refund my money, they gave me "credits". I have tried to use those credits on their website for a "pass". They would not accept their own credits. I also have found that their leagues are poorly run and my friends no longer want to play in Volo leagues. As such, I have no plans to use their "credits". I asked that these funds be returned to me and they refused. They did not provide a service after taking payment. They have not allowed reasonable use of credits in the interceding time. I would like my "credits" returned to me. I have emailed them several times making this request. They called me and said they had a policy that they get to keep my money. That seems immoral and illegal. If they can't do what they said the would, they should return my money in cash not "credits".Initial Complaint

Tried joining two different leagues and both ended up cancelling last minute. Joined a sports league starting on 2/7/2023 and it was cancelled on 2/2/2023. Used the credit from the first cancellation to sign up for another league starting on 4/18/2023. On 4/12/2023, the league was postponed to 5/9/2023 and was then cancelled on 5/3/2023. Volo Sports is refusing to refund.Business response

Hello,
Upon reviewing our correspondences we have refunded this person. Although, this is not within our typical refund policy this is a show of good faith. Attached is a screenshot of the refund.
Thanks,

I signed up for a kickball league with a group on May 2nd in Boston. Soon after, I was told by the group leader that the group I signed up with didn't have enough players for that league, so we would be getting a refund. I received no information other than by word of mouth from friends in the group about the cancellation. I waited to receive a refund but it never came. I recently asked others in the group if they received a refund and they said that they did. I have tried contacting them by phone, email, facebook messenger, multiple times but have not heard back from them.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/17) */ Hi Alex, We reached out to your captain, John, on May 6th to tell him we did not have room for you in the league. He told us he would get back to us on the team's decision. According to our notes there has been no communication since then so we assumed the team was deciding on what summer league to participate in. In any case your refund was processed on June 16th at 10:16am and my colleague Sara followed up with confirmation - there is also a picture attached of that confirmation. We would appreciate if you could accept this resolution. Thank you, Rich ****
