            This contractor agreed to widen our walkway and reseal our driveway for $5500. He came twice to collect deposits and took $4700 from us, stating that the material cost is too high. So, we gave him the money in cash. He dug the part of the walkway for extension, left some 2X4s and left. He also told that his phone is lost and gave us a new number. Ever since he took the deposit, he hasn't been in contact with us. We have an attorney now and the attorney has tried to touch base with him. Attorney's call was taken once, but after that even attorney's calls are ignored. We have tried both his phones, but not successful to reach. He mentioned that his son was in the hospital, so we were little nice to him. But doesn't loo like it was true. Sometimes he says that his dad is not well. We are going to take legal action soon and feel so shameful to have given him the money. We just want the work to be finished because the rain is causing a lot of mud issues in the front yard and people question us why we have left the work undone. It is shameful to explain the situation. We have alerted our friend group to watch out. If he is good and prompt, he can get lot of business through referrals, but we feel scared to refer him to anyone now. We can take this report back if he comes back to finish the job, but keeping our fingers crossed.
