Shocking lack of service and concern for elderly widow in Germantown Maryland. I am a customer for over 40 years and have been strong armed into buying a new tank, (which they cannot deliver), and have endured a fuel oil delivery stop order since November 18th. I bought my own diesel cans and am going to the gas station to get 5 gallon increments to keep the pipes from freezing. And today., I am another two weeks out before a tank can be delivered. They promised a temporary tank would be installed and that never happened. When I objected to their policy and service, the customer service agent hung up on me. Disgusting service. Find an independent supplier not affiliated with Petro and Star Power which controls the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states. AWFUL.Review from Hope B

After 20+ years of paying for service contracts (over $800 this year), current Griffith management and service cost me $2000 out of pocket to repair their own mistakes. A condenser drain pipe not threaded properly on install four years ago eventually leaked enough to stain 20 sq ft of carpet outside the furnace room. Yet 3 different Griffith techs over 2 weeks could not diagnose the leak and instead blamed the new roof (costing me $650 for leak testing to no avail) and said I might need a new furnace (after purchasing one from Griffith just 4.5 years ago) and probably a new tank (I just painted mine). My own tech found the leak in 3 minutes and fixed it in 20 minutes with parts from **** *****. A professional steam cleaner cleaned the carpet for $250. Three Griffith techs failed to find a leak, caused by a Griffith installer, that a private mechanic found and fixed in 20 minutes. Their techs quit constantly in constant turnover. Moreover, the "annual maintenance" tech installed the humidifier pad upside down that would have also leaked eventually, according to Griffith's own subsequent tech. After several calls Griffith sent a new tech to reassemble the furnace before cold weather after another tech disassembled it, trying to find the source of the leak. They did not send the "expert" tech promised nor at the time scheduled with no advance warning or apology. The management local and regional "sympathise" online and during a phone call after my negative review, then do nothing, not even call back these past four weeks. When called for reimbursement for additional expenses incurred, no one returned the call. I am curious to see how Griffith management responds to this legitimate fact-based complaint. They have not bothered to call me to rectify or even apologise for this poor service, despite my negative survey to Griffith. I found no corporate number to call online. Maybe this review will warrant a call and compensation. If so, I will update this review.Griffith Energy Services, Inc. Response

Terrible company and after being a custome 15 years I had to cancel my contract. They previously charged me $500+ dollars which after speaking to the billing department, they owed me money. I thought the issue was resolved until 1 month later they stated that I owe them approximately $500 again. I called multiple times to resolve the issue. I left messages with the billing department and never got a call back. I called the manager Emanuel and left messages and never got a call back. They don't respond. Regardless, I cancelled my contract because it is not worth dealing with the terrible service. They don't care about their customers and when you try to talk to someone they are unresponsive. Do not deal with this company. You will waste a lot your time if there any problems or discrepancies with your bill.Griffith Energy Services, Inc. Response

Thank you for your feedback as well as your many years of patronage. We apologize for any miscommunication on our part and have put through a goodwill adjustment for the service plan renewal and late fees. The only remaining balance due is for a service repair call for Insufficient Cooling in September 2023. We wish you the best with your new provider!Review from Eric F.

I am utterly outraged by the abysmal service provided by Griffith Energy! After forking out a hefty $426 for a furnace tune-up on 3/4, my furnace conked out the same day. To add insult to injury, they sent another technician on 3/7, who had the audacity to charge me $581 for replacing the pump, blaming the incompetence of the first technician. What's worse is the lack of transparency in their billing! No itemized breakdown, just a vague claim of a discount for a diagnosis fee. When I dared to question this highway robbery, the service manager had the nerve to tell me they "don't break down the bills." This is daylight robbery disguised as a service! I demand a refund for the shoddy work and the blatant overcharging!Griffith Energy Services, Inc. Response

I ordered a specific amount of off road diesel and was delivered nearly double that amount. Of course, they are still making me pay. But, they still have not provided an itemized receipt and have charged my card 3 separate times for one delivery. I am going to cancel my card for fear of even more charges. Every time I speak with them, I hear that my card has officially been taken off the account. Then why do I have 3 separate charges!Review from Taeho J

On June 22, 2023, the motor AC unit ( outside) failed to operate. So called Griffith energy service company to service the unit. Griffith rep. told me that it will be charged $119 to come to my house to troubleshooting the unit, no refund. So technician came out and looked and told me that the motor is not working and needed to replace it without telling me how much it will cost. Then he went out to truck to look for the motor, he said he needed to go to shop to get it. After one hour and thirty minutes, he returned with the motor and replace the part. It was about one hour to replace the motor in the unit. Kudos to the technician and he has done great job. The other day, I received the bill, $867. I was shocked, and called Griffith and asked whether it is correct amount and expressed that it seems overcharged. She exclaimed that it was correct and reasonable. Wow, she was very rude and no personal manner. Anyway I paid the full amount. I still think it was over charged just replace a motor in the A/C unit. No more Griffith service, get other company to service the unit.Review from Elizabeth R

If I could give no stars I would this is the worst company I have ever dealt with worst than spectrum to be honest. I ordered propane and have been telling them for the whole season my gauge is messed up and doesn’t read right and it needs changed … they still have not replaced it saying the tank would need to be on 0 I replied with it was on0 for 3 weeks and still ran so the gauge is messed up please change it or do what ever to fix I ordered propane the beginning of April and advised again that the gauge doesn’t seem to be accurate because I was running out I can tell by the way the heater runs when it’s gonna run out but it was at 20 %. Please change the gauge again. I said and she said yes I will make notes of this not sure if three changed it but they charged me 194 dollars more than what I received and stated do would have the credit back in 5 to 7 days it is still not here. I called they said oh yeah we mailed you a check I said a check you charged me a h prior to delivery and then I have to wait they said yes I said some choice words and requested manager …. Long story short the manager said I will be waiting 4 to 6 weeks to get my money back that they over charged me like WTF DO YOU MEAN .! So beyond pissed right now I will be finding another company prior to next winter season as this company SUCKSGriffith Energy Services, Inc. Response

No stars deserved. I requested delivery of 150gals of home fuel, and they "accidentally" filled my tank with 221gals. How convenient for them! Now I'm left trying to figure out to pay the bill. This the 2nd, and last, billing issue. Go elsewhere for services. This company should not be a BBB business, see recent reviews.Review from Angela M

I was a customer in 2021 and my contract ended December 2021. Griffith made a mistake and filled the oil tank after the contract was over (January 22, 2022) which I had signed a contract with Petro. Then, Griffith tells me I owe some large amount of money for the oil. They have continued to bill me and add more money for late fees. It is infuriating that no one ever responds over a year and a half. I have called customer service 3 times and sent 2 emails and no response. Customer service is terrible and the ones they have seem overworked. They are only concerned with their bottom line. I have reported this to Petro also, as they took away what Petro should have done.Griffith Energy Services, Inc. Response

Hello. Thank you for your review, however your automatic delivery program was not tied to your pricing agreement as stated in the copy of your pricing agreement that you confirmed. Therefore, the delivery was made as scheduled and you received the benefit of the fuel. Moving forward as a measure of goodwill, we will be crediting your current account balance due and all associated finance charges. We wish you and your family a happy holiday season.Review from James F

We have had a call in to Griffith Energy's Southern Maryland Oil service hotline for over a year. We have yet to get a resolution and since October 2, we have had only one response from the company despite calling every other day or so. The phone representatives are sympathetic and promise to return to us with a resolution by the end of the business day, but evidently, they cannot force Ken F******, the Supervisor for our area, to return our calls or send out a service person with adequate skills to resolve the problem. We sit with a hole in our drywall from where he said to remove it to gain access to a damper, yes, for a year. And in the meantime, our furnace heats up unused areas while leaving no heat in the living areas because of a stuck damper. We try to escalate, but cannot get ANYONE to respond to us. Meanwhile, we waste propane and increase electricity use in order to get through. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!
