Took all of the money then left half the job undone

I had issues with new drains installed. The water run’s over when it rains. Tried to contact Old Bay numerous of times. With no response. Called again on 08/03/23 got an answer. Someone said my name and then hung up the phone. Tried to call back, I get no answer. I’m still unable to reach anyone with four different numbers. They won’t even call back.

Is there a way to leave 0 stars? I hired Old Bay Remodeling after meeting with their carpenter, Bill. He was very charming and the quotes he handed me were within my price range. Had I known I would have to hire someone else to redo the work entirely after they had already billed me, I obviously would have avoided this company like the plague. I had to pay $18,000 for labor only. I paid around $5,000 for materials. Almost everything that I was billed for was done incorrectly. The bathroom is a complete mess with doors that were hung incorrectly, so they cannot be closed. Tiles were not glued down properly so now the entire floor must be pulled up and the sink and toilet need to be pulled up as well. The mirror in the same bathroom was hung incorrectly as well (both off center and so close to the lighting that you would be completely unable to change the light in the light fixture). The tiles on the floor are scratched and the mosaic tiling on the wall is cracked and uneven, to the point where you can see it from outside of the bathroom. The sink fixture was put on backwards. The main lighting fixture was put on uneven and at an angle. There are spots where the grout is naked and cracked. The edging on the tile is not consistently installed. THIS IS AFTER THEY FIXED IT MULTIPLE TIMES. Originally, they installed the shower tile in a manner that would prevent it from ever draining. They repeatedly installed the tile incorrectly, and I mean to the point it was an eye sore. This is just one of the 4 areas they were hired to do. Consistently throughout the basement they painted very poorly, at points painting over my mirrored doors. They even painted over a sticker that was on wall instead of removing it. They only put one layer of paint and would put patches of paint on areas that I had told them looked uneven. In the entirety of the floor the electric sockets were to be replaced but were not.

We were ready to walk away from Old Bay Remodeling because of BBB feedback and I'm glad we did not. There is another person bringing up the same concern in the other reviews down below. Old Bay Remodeling has a page on their website saying how many jobs they have completed each year and how tiny the few complaints they have on BBB is compared to their volume of work. Jerome did not hide the fact - He was up front about it and did not run or brush me off when I asked him about it. We choose Old Bay mostly because of the honest replies and we are happy we did. We have a completely finished basement complete with a bathroom.
