I financed a car using Bellco in 2021. I purchased gap insurance through them during the time of purchasing my loan. Unfortunately my car was recently totaled and I asked Bellco to file a complaint with the gap insurance. It has been two months I have made several calls to Bellco and they have told me there is nothing that they can do. My last call with them was pretty much too bad so sad I'm sorry this is happening and that was it. No resolution, no education as to the timeline of what happens next. I don't even know if the gap insurance is legit no contact number for them- I don't know if it's in house or what's happening. Bellco has failed to provide anything showing something has been filed or I am "waiting on a check". I have asked to speak to a supervisor and am told it will be an hour to talk with one- then am transferred to a recording that hangs up on me. The level of unprofessionalism has me worried there will be no outcome and I have been a very loyal customer.Business response

Hello. I have been paying my mortgage with bello credit unition on a monthly basis for the amount of $2,775.81. They recently did an annual escrow analysis and the taxes and insurance on the property went up. They sent me a statement showing the annual escrow shortage was $159.72. or $13.31 a month. I had the option to pay the shortage off in full before November 1, 2022, or the payment would go up too $2,789.12 a month, an increase of $13.31 a month. I decided to pay off the shortage since it is a small dollar amount. I sent them a check for $159.72 on 10/10/2022 and they rejected it. I called their phone number and they told me they did not know why the annual escrow payment was rejected and to send a new check. So I sent them another letter and check on 10/26 and it cleared my bank. They also sent me the money back for the first check. They then incorrectly applied the annual escrow shortage, and my monthly payment went up to 2931.09 (an increase of $155.28 a month). I also sent them my normal monthly payment of $2,775.81 on 10/25 for the November 1, 2022 due date. They also rejected that payment. I have now been on the phone with them six times over a two week period to get this resolved. I even escalated to a manager (Robin ****** and they have not to this date been able to fix this payment processing issue on their side. I am filing complaints with you guys, the colorado state attorney generals office, and hiring a lawyer to hopefully get this fixed. My concern is the mortgage loan will now go late or delinquent and they will start the foreclosure process even though I have paid them the escrow shortage and novemeber monthly payement. I also plan on sending them the december monthly payment on 11/18.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/08) */ Bellco will be contacting our member and working with him directly. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/11/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) The company Bellco outsourced their mortgage servicing too, refunded my money on the second rejected payment 8 days later after they rejected it, after calling back an 8th time to find out when it was going to be refunded. I then got a second escrow analysis in the mail on 11/5 showing that they had screwed up the initial escrow analysis (they only had the mortgage insurance increase not the county tax increase). For a payment due on 11/1. So they sent me a notice 4 days after the payment was due that the payment was changing. Everything is sorted out now, but this company they have outsourced their mortgage servicing too is the worst financial outsourcing institution I have dealt with in 30 years. I had to call a total of 8 times to resolve the issue, and they kept giving me different/bad/misinformation each phone call which of course just made me angrier and angrier, and screwed up four times during the process. I have zero confidence in the company they have hired to service their mortgages. Hopefully there will be no other issues going forward. I even had to file this bbb complaint this was so bad.Initial Complaint

Worst banking experience ever. We have 2 loans with Belco and they continue to post payments to the incorrect accounts. They have now caused what should be over payments now have us past due. Causing credit issues. This has been an issue for months and thye have yet to fix it. Credit dispute and FDIC contacted. Don't bank here! Misappropriation of funds. They apply all payments towards principal versus how we want it to go towards the next payment. They have posted over 2k into the wrong loan now causing our loan for our truck to show late when we over pay each month by 250.00. They just post to whatever account they feel they want. This has caused stress beyond the normal circumstances.Business response

I took out a loan with Bellco to finance my truck in Colorado. I've paid on time since financing it until December 2021 when payments stopped coming out of my regular bank account. I was unaware of payments not coming out because it was on autopay. I received 0 emails about this and now I am 4 months past due. The customer service representative that assisted me yesterday could barely read off the script given to her, didn't know how to access anything on her system and had children fighting in the background of her call. She offered no help like a payment plan of any kind and just took a payment. When I asked her what will happen to the rest of the balance, she said "I don't know. You could probably call again tomorrow and find out." I was unable to be transferred due to work obligations and could not continue. I do not think I should have to pay extra fees like the 60 dollar late fees incurred because they did not appear on my regular account. Had they appeared, I might have been aware of payments not being made since the company failed to email any kind of notice that my payments were late. The mailing address was incorrect, so no mail would have been sent to me. I also would like to negotiate the rest of the payment into some kind of payment plan so my credit can stop dropping as is the result of this episode. I find it very hard to believe someone with that level of training would be allowed to help customers with such sensitive money issues. Please get back to me on this since customer service only operates until 5 pm and I am at work until then.
