SECU Keeps changing their telephone banking system. This new ‘Bank By Phone’ system is much worse than the previous Express Line. The commands are often non-responsive. It is so frustrating.

I have a home mortage and a savings account with SECU. I set up an authomatic transfer of funds from my savings to pay for my mortgage and my savings always maintained enough funds. When looking at my mortgage payment I noticed a late fee was being added every month. I had set it up to pay the 1st of each month and the payment was always due on the 16. it seems they set up a separate recurring automatic late mortgage payment for the 16th of each month which included an additional $77. So, although my mortgage was being paid automatically each month, it was paid always on the 26th and not the 1st and they stole $77 from me each month!

My parents opened a SECU account for me before I was born, and the only reason I have anything to do with it still is because I have a joint Line of Credit with my father from college that I'm still paying toward. I removed all of my money from SECU years ago due to their horrendous customer service, but apparently an account had my old card, which put one of my checking accounts into a negative balance and SECU closed it. Fine - my mistake. Recently, I transferred money into that account by mistake in an attempt to pay the LoC. The funds more than cleared the remaining balance on my old account, but SECU said nothing. I had to go back and forth for over a week with employees to essentially walk them through finding my own money. You'd think some sort of standard practice would be when there's an overpayment on a closed account, that the excess funds would be returned. Not here! After several messages and phone calls over the course of a week to sort this out, I requested that I not receive a late fee and have a late payment reported on my credit. I was told that would be the case. Got a notification today that my credit score dropped 50 points because they reported it anyway. I checked my LoC and, yep, you guessed it! Late fee. Their banking systems are absolutely antique by today's standards, they don't even have the highest interest rates anymore, the online portal is useless, and there is absolutely no communication amongst staff of the same department, much less between departments. They sure found money for the naming rights to the ********** ** ********'s football field, though. They have terrible ratings here, and so many more on their social media accounts. I never write reviews, but I cannot emphasize enough how inept this company and its employees are. Heed the warnings. They're there for a reason.

I had money removed from my account in May 2022 at ATM machines. Someone apparently stole my card and had my pin. This was at a bar and ***** ***** in the 7000 and 8000 ave of Pulaski HWY. IBaltimore. I simply wanted video of the transactions from SECU. They couldn't help. No video, a rep said. Called police. Waste of time. SECU fraud protection is a joke.

I just tried to do a temporary increase of daily limit on my debit card now only for the member rep to tell me I cannot because I had an "insufficient funds" issue in the last 6months. I have this funds in my account, I have my debit card on me and I was able to verify myself, yet I cannot complete my transaction because of a policy that an insufficient funds incidence in the last 6months makes you ineligible to temporary increase your daily limit. So, in a scenario where I need my money for a life-threatening situation, I, or that person dies because I had an insufficient fund situation in the last 6 months, Seriously, Secu??? That policy needs to be scrapped ASAP before you get some bad lawsuits someday. utter nonsense!

I have personally banked with SECU for close to a decade. I am currently in the processes of growing my business venture. Because I have a personal account with SECU, naturally I assumed creating a business account would not be an issue. In attempt in going through the process of reopening my business account with the Owings Mills location. The staff is professional; however, I felt rushed through and that Tammy did not show empathy and efficiency when helping me with reopening my account. There was important information she left out which has caused multiple trips to the bank. I will be banking somewhere else that has better customer service, response time, empathy and efficiency.

I was racially profiled at your location on Security BLVD. Also I was manipulated and treated as a fraudulent customer and have been banking with them for several years. My loan was wrongfully seized and told it would sent back to the SBA and they still have not received my funds and I was given no help from SECU. Since Oct.14 2021
