I hired D3 Corp in October of 2021 to build a website for my visual art business. I chose the $3500 option they offered, which was a customized Shopify e-commerce web builder site. The "contract" I signed didn't specifically enumerate what exactly I was receiving for my fee. The company charges $95 an hour for labor, so I assumed I would receive a very professional looking, custom web builder site. I was told I should expect the site to be finished in about 6 weeks. It took four months. The reason I wanted the website was as a portfolio for my visual art, to find clients and buyers, and represent myself to the professional art community. I deal with a lot of different art organizations. The completed site that I finally signed off on was very amateurish. I really was not happy with it. But I didn't think I could do it myself. I was told I'd be trained to use my site. I'm not a graphic artist. As my training I was given PDF's from Shopify's website. I began doing work on my own on the site and realized how simple certain procedures were. It became apparent to me that whoever was doing work on my site was not spending a lot of time. I was assigned a project manager who didn't seem to know what was going on or much about Shopify. This person left the company during the year, and I started working with another project manager who also couldn't answer simple questions about the site. I did agreed to pay D3 $100 a month after the site was finished and I paid the $3500 in full for what I thought was continued maintenance. I called the company and told them I couldn't afford the $100 and wanted to cancel the maintenance fee after a year of payments. I was told that included a $50 webhosting fee and the balance went toward their $95 an hour labor costs. If I quit paying them I would lose webhosting and after a calendar year if I didn't use the labor fee it would reset for the new year, so I lost all the money I didn't use. At present I no longer have a website with D3.

I called ***** on March 9, 2023 and followed up with an email that same day. Going back to the beginning, ***** selected the Shopify theme and approved the design and launch of the website. I understand that ***** then had some concerns. We are committed to handling those concerns as we do not want unhappy customers. Further, there are options available in the instance that a concern is elevated to a dispute. During our phone conversation, I reminded ***** of those dispute resolution options that were agreed to with our signed contract. Potential resolutions included changing Shopify themes or using a different framework altogether. Those resolution procedures were not followed and we were never told she was considering the cancelation of service. ***** wrote me a letter after cancelation; if she would have notified me prior to cancelation, I am confident we could have determined a solution to make her happy. We have been in business 27 years and I don't recall an instance like this. I understand that ***** is upset and I am hoping to have a resolution with her that is reasonable and satisfactory for both parties. I want an amicable relationship with ***** and wish her nothing but the best going forward.
