Software: Automotive wolf http://www.lonewolf-software.com They locked us out or acessing our data unless we Re puchace a new product every 5 years/installs yet say lifetime (extortion/false claims , non trasparent pratices) and give the poor excuse or priacy and shared keys when it tied to your computer how can you share said key? So I can not acees my data or use ther program I paid for. The product page claims free lifetime upgrades and keys. I purchased the Automotive Wolf software in 2009. I always got the free update/keys whenever they updated. That is until now. Now they want me to pay for a new copy. Here's what they said, "We are asking that customers that purchased a license more than 5 years ago to please purchase a new license to support the software and further development." They are not ASKING. They are demanding. Repurchase the software or they won't give me the key to open the software. Yeah, this review is staying (as a warning to future customers). No matter what they do. They've already wasted enough of my time when all they had to do was KEEP THEIR PROMISE.

    Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/06/29) */ This customers compaint is full of misleading and inaccurate statements. Our Key policy is stated clearly on our support page. After you purchase a license you receive a permanent Key that will never expire on a computer after it is entered to unlock the software. After 5 years from the date of purchase any NEW installations of the software will require a new license. All upgrades to the software are free and do not require a new Key so it is a Life-Time free upgrade policy. This customer purchased the software on 10-7-2015 and has been sent 3 FREE replacement Keys. His license is now over 5 years old and he is required to purchase another license to install the software on a new computer. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2022/06/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Dears Sir, My Statements are NOT misleading and honest. I have clealy paid for said software and am entitled to install said sofware after 5 years as other software upgrades are necessary on pcs and hardware falure can and does happen. You policy ignores this fact as has locked me out of accesing my database that i creaed on the 10 years I used your sofware. Now I caanot get any of my files without buys said product again. This is not lifetime use but limited to 5 years. Clearly, you depnd on customers repairing ther pcs and doing upgrades to lose there work and rebuy somthing I consider such pratices immoral. Yes your site states tsh but it's not trasparent. I do not have acess to my 10 yr data thats a problem. The customer has no idea you can't upgrade your pc after 5 years or re install windows. I consider myself a business man as I owed a pc business for more then 30 years so I know how often pcs need reinstalls. My keys I used of yours were such reinstalls. I will galdly provide proof that these were average insalls of windows 7 then 8.1 then 10 now 11. Thats 4 and 5 and 6 ( I had to rei-install windows 11 twice dure to microsfts updateds failing.) were hardware faliure. That would be The average user. You can find tons of documents of faliues with windows 11 update faluires requiring reinstalls. That means anyone who bough your software 5 years or more ad has a faluire beyond there control has to re buy you software or they cant acess there hard filed data. You software is data entry YOU can't justify forecing customers to rebuy that just not a good business pratice. While lifetime updates are nice I'd rather have a single version and still be able to use it. Granted I bought your software and have no problem using it. What I have an issue with is being forced to buy it every 5 years. It's the principal of it. Just offer a not updateable verison then so users are not locked out of using your software. whats the point of lifetime if I only can used yoru sofware until i update in 5 years thats a limited version. Hopefully, you can learn for you mistakes. I bought and supported you software thinking you were an honest business. Yes you sent three keys as you should dont make it sound like you did me a favor you do that for everyone. I had no idea updates ONLY could be lifetime update I have never seen this pratice form any software company. I would have expected necessary windows installs and hardware changes were ok on the same computer. NOTE this is the same 1 computer as licensed. It's NOT a permanat key if your servers say it expires after a set time.
