I ordered two pairs of jeans as a Christmas gift order on 30 November since I would be out of town most of December. I also paid the extra $2.98 to make the return/exchange easier. The jeans were both too short for my daughter in law who was embarrassed about telling me that she could not wear the jeans and was considering having them hemmed. I asked **************** about the process for sending them back on 1/19/2025 and was given the link to use to read the return policy. Apparently, we waited too long and although the tags are still on the jeans, we're stuck with them. I understand there has to be a time limit for an exchange, but this was a Christmas gift, so it looks like the time limit could have been a little longer. I was thinking the extra $2.98 I paid meant I may have a longer time to send them back, but that was not the case. I will not order from Ava Lane Boutique again.Ava Lane Boutique Response

Hello *****, We responded to your email on 1/21, just 10 minutes after receiving it. In our reply, we offered to make an exception to our return policy and accept your return. We simply needed to know if you preferred a full refund or store credit for an exchange, then we could send you the free return label.Our automated return system does decline returns outside the standard return window, but as mentioned to you in our email, we were happy to make this exception for you.Below is the full reply we sent to your email yesterday:"Hello *****,Thank you for circling back and for sharing the situation with us. We completely understand your concerns and we're happy to make a late return exception for you since this was your first purchase with us. To proceed, please let us know if you would like a store credit or refund for the jeans in this order. I bought 3 pairs. They arrived quickly, and are so comfortable and actually ran long enough for me. They fit just as they said they would. I'm very happy. The prices and shipping costs are well stated, so I don't know why someone is complaining about that. There were no hidden costs and they offered a discount, which they honored. Thieves!!! Do NOT order from this place. You pay an exorbitant amount for one pair of jeans, then they charge you shipping. You then want to return the jeans and pay more shipping to send it back. Then you get your refund and they DO NOT reimburse the shipping you originally paid for because its in their policy!!!!!! Can someone please tell me how that makes sense?! Theyre literally STEALING your money. Disgusting and dishonest company. It also takes forever to even get a response from customer service. We understand that you may feel the price is high, but it was ultimately your choice whether or not to make the purchase.2.Return Policy: Our return policy, which is stated clearly on our website, specifies that we do not refund shipping costs. This policy aligns with most online boutiques. As a small business, covering shipping for try-ons and returns would be unsustainable. However, unlike many boutiques that only offer store credit for returns, we do offer refunds.3.Accusations of Dishonesty and Theft: We take these accusations very seriously. We adhered to our return policy, which was available for review in full before your purchase. Hi *******,Thank you so much for supporting our small business, and I sincerely apologize for the delay with your shipment. We completely understand how frustrating it is when an order takes longer than expected. After reviewing your case, I see that your order was placed on 8/25 at 6:20 PM. Your package left our facility in ************, ** on 8/26 at 9:17 AM and has unfortunately been held at the **** distribution center in ******* since 8/30. While this is rare, we do see delays like this from time to time. Unfortunately, **** delivery speed is entirely out of our control.Our customer service team has been in touch with you multiple times and, on 9/16, offered to send a free replacement, even though **** requires us to wait a minimum of 15 days from the ship date before we can even file a claim. We offered this replacement at our own risk, knowing **** might not reimburse us, because we wanted to make sure you received your order.Were always looking to improve, so we would appreciate any feedback on how you feel we could have handled this situation better. ***Ava Lane Boutique Response

First time customer and my items shipped 4 days ago and havent been able to track since. I emailed 2 days back to back and no response. I dont know about the clothing but the customer service is non existent. For me and probably most people this makes a big difference in a repeat customer.i have no idea if this company is legit or not . Hello ******, Thank you so much for shopping with our small business. I reviewed your order and I see it was placed on 8/24/24. It was shipped out on 8/26/24 and delivered to your mailbox on 9/3/24. That is a rather quick shipment from ** to CA over Labor Day weekend. **** tracking information was emailed to you at the time of shipment. It likely went to your spam/junk folder if you did not see it. You sent one email to our customer service on Saturday 8/28 and two emails on Sunday 8/30. We are not open on the weekends, as stated in the auto reply we sent to you. Since that weekend was Labor Day Weekend, we did not reopen until 9/3. However, I see one of our dedicated team members replied to you on Sunday 8/30, on her day off, with an update regarding your order.
