  I made an appointment for a counseling session and when I got to my appointment. I checked in and was given no information at that time that the first visit is called Diagnostic Evaluation and the fee would be $250. During my appt the young women I see disclosed she wasnt fully licensed yet. I chose not to come back and 3 months later I receive a bill for a remaining $70 due. When I called to discuss the matter I was told that information was as at the front counter. Nothing was posted nor was I offered this information. When I explained that I came to that office seeking help in a very vulnerable position and that I felt very taken advantage of, I was told it was my responsibility to know what Im paying for. When I said yes I now will always ask but then asked isnt their responsibility to inform me of these upfront she said she wasnt going to argue with me. When I mentioned that I was never notified until I received that notification yesterday and yet it showed it being late, she had no explanation. This is extremely unprofessional and I dont believe that the services I received was worth the what Im being asked to pay, especially because I wasnt notified of this fee, service or that the young women I seen hadnt taken her test yet. I was dealing with a very stressful and traumatic event and this has only caused more stress. The thought of others being taken advantage of in this manner is sad, people who are already vulnerable. I would have gladly paid a small co-pay just as I do now at my new counselor who is licensed.
