Had a terrible experience with KA concrete from start to finish. The owners are rude and unprofessional. Our driveway started cracking only a few months after it was poured. We were accused of using salt on it (we never did) and received excuses like "that's Michigan weather for ya". We hired another concrete company to inspect it and they confirmed that it was poured incorrectly. We ended up winning a small claims judgement (they have had several in the past few years). The owners never paid us and ignored a court ordered subpoena. Unfortunately small businesses are hard to keep accountable and they can just ignore you and go onto the next job.

We engaged KA Concrete Solutions to install a concrete driveway over a section of our driveway that was gravel. They stated that they were going to dig down before pouring the concrete to maintain the grade of the surrounding land. After starting the project, they elected to pour the concrete atop the gravel producing a 4 inch lip. Their work quality was poor. The workmen left their trash on our property, even though there was a trash can available to them that was no farther than 20 feet from where they parked. At one point they asked if we could provide them with some water. I showed them where we had a spigot with a hose. Unbeknownst to us, they used the hose to wash large pieces of concrete from their clothes and felt that it was appropriate to do so in the middle of our yard. I was left cleaning up their mess or risking ruining my lawnmower. They bent over a sign with their cement truck and refused to fix it. Finally, after receiving a judgment from the court months ago based on the work that they performed, KA has made no indication that they have any intention to pay. I wish that I never engaged KA.

This company owned by ******************* and ********************* has been sued for poor workmanship at least four times. ( In Kalamazoo county twice and Allegan County twice.) Each time the court determined that they performed poor work and/or damaged property. As a result, four judgments have entered. They have been ordered to pay thousands of dollars n damages to homeowners. If that wasn't bad enough, they then refuse, or try to avoid, payment on the judgments. These records are available to the public at the Kalamzoo and Allegan County courthouses

Working with KA was horrible. We paid a deposit in September 2021 to schedule some concrete work for spring. When it was finally scheduled in June, no one showed up because an employee had quit. I get it; the labor market is challenging. We canceled some of the work and rescheduled the rest. The cost of the job increased because the estimate from the previous fall had an incorrect measurement, but we moved forward anyway (we were not given a written estimate), assuming they were working in good faith. The work they did was fine. However, while doing the work, the concrete truck (their supplier) drove on our driveway and damaged a panel. We tried to withhold payment until it could be fixed, but were persuaded to just withhold a small portion until they could come back and do the repair. We were specifically told that they would fix it. We reached back to them the next week to schedule the repair. When the scheduled date for the repair came and went without any work done or any communication, we followed up and were told that they didn't have time to fix it, but the amount withheld should take care of it. After getting quotes and learning that we could not repair it for that amount, we gave KA multiple options to reschedule the repair, procure the concrete at a better price for another contractor, or reimburse us to have someone else fix it. Most communications went unanswered. We finally took them to Small Claims Court, where they were found responsible. When they still did not pay the amount owed after the 30 days allowed by the court, I had to follow up again to request payment before taking further court action to collect through a lien or garnishment. My communication went unanswered, but I finally received a check, which is a relief, as it appears they have several other larger judgments pending for multiple court cases.

Had my driveway done by KA on June 7th 2021. On March 15th 2022 (after I noticed because the snow and ice melted) I contacted them letting them know the top of my driveway was crumbling. They told me it was salt damage from salting the driveway or from salt dripping off a vehicle. I never once salted my driveway and never have anyone park in this area of the driveway since it's right in front of my garage door. I have a whole separate area I had them put in just for parking. They said they'll come look at it. I heard nothing more from them, so I contacted them again on May 1st 2022. They said they needed to send someone out to get a core sample from my driveway. I contacted them again on May 17th and May 23rd, and they just say I need to wait for their guy to take a sample. I sent them a mediation request through Friend of the Court since they have ghosted me for 2.5 months. I waited a couple weeks with no reply, so I sent them a message on ********* The message was kicked back to me saying it failed to send. This means they blocked me on ******** messenger... Just a horrible company. I have opened up a small claims case against them.

Did lousy job with our steps. Cracks, pieces of concrete falling. Color is really bad. Would not come back to fix problems. Big thumbs down.
