On April 13, 2022, BBB Serving Eastern Michigan and Upper Peninsula requested the business substantiate, modify, or discontinue advertising claims on the business' website. The website contains testimonials from prominent athletes and advertises "Waist circumference decreased by 3.5cm", "58% increase in abdominal strength", "100% increase in abdominal endurance" and other claimed results.

Testimonials and Endorsements, “In general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if: It contains representations or statements which would be misleading if made directly by the advertiser; While literally true, it creates deceptive implications; A consumer’s experience represented in an advertisement is not the typical experience of those using the product or service, unless the advertisement clearly and conspicuously discloses what the expected results will be…”
According to BBB Code of Advertising section 34. Claimed Results, “Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.”
As of May 31, 2022, the business has failed to substantiate, modify, or discontinue advertised claims. Atlas Muscle Toner is not registered with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). Certified mail to 306 N Kenwood Ave Royal Oak, MI 48067 was returned, marked "unclaimed".
