I had ***************************** Roofing and Siding come out and re-shingle my roof and replace the counter flashing on my chimney in June of 2022. Two days later it rained and I had water running in my house all around the chimney and onto the floor. I then went outside in the rain and checked out the rest of the job they did. I had water running down between the drip edge and the facia on the ***** ends and water running down the facia on the *****. I called ******** and they came out the next day and put a tarp around the chimney. Before they came I had a friend go up on the roof and take a look. They did not re-flash my chimney. They left the old flashing in place and put a bunch of caulk on the old flashing. They also calked several spots on the roof where they had miss-nailed the shingles. There were shingles that were miss aligned and the drip edges on the ***** ends were not installed to code causing water to run between the drip edge and facia. They came out within a week and replaced the counter flashing on the chimney, but refused to fix the other problems. The owner ************************* came out a few weeks later and looked at the job. I showed him photos of the problems and should him the ** building code showing him what they did wrong. He said that he has been doing it this way for ten years and that he was doing it right. He refused to fix the problem. I called the ** Department of ***** to file a complaint and they told me his insurance had lapsed in Feb 2022. And they would check into it. I again contacted ******** roofing by certified mail stating they needed to fix the problem and he agreed once he found out I had contacted the ***** of *****. They finally came out and tore off all the shingles on the ***** ends and replaced the drip edge, felt, ice barrier in & shingles in September. It would have been easier to do it right and by code the first time around.
