  I purchased a vehicle from ****** Dealership, *********, **. I missed two payments ($800 total) and on 12/11/24 they called to have my vehicle repossessed by a company called Recovery Industry located in *************, **. The same day my vehicle was repossessed for $800 I called ****** and they said to get my vehicle back immediately I needed to pay them $1767.36 through ************* right away. Approximately 4-6 hours the same day on 12/11/24 payment was made all business's were closed. The following morning 12/12/24 ****** confirmed they received the money and I can get my vehicle back. They gave me the name, number, and address to Recovery Industry who is in possession of my car 5 miles away. I called Recovery Industry and said I wanted to pick up my vehicle and I was paid in full. They confirmed I paid in full but said I need to make an appointment to pick up my vehicle and soonest appointment available is 4 days later on 12/16/24 and they are also going to charge me everyday my vehicle sits in their yard. My children's father drove the to Recovery Industry and asked the employees to return the vehicle that we paid to have released. He was told make an appointment and he verbalized the price has already been paid in full and he wants the vehicle. He explained if he didn't get it he would call the police and file a Better Business Bureau complaint. Employee said, "go ahead and call the police" and locked the door behind him when he stepped out to call. Sheriff came and said it was a civil issue. How is it I can pay the full asking price over two times what was owed to reclaim my vehicle and the towing company can refuse to return it to me and charge me additional days and keep it in their possession. I have 6 children at home who will now miss school, therapy, and swimming lessons while they hold onto a vehicle I paid in full to have returned to me. How does a company do this to families and be allowed to hold a vehicle I paid to have released, unethical/wrong
