I opened my account in December 2022 and purchased i-securities bond on line. An account was established and I again purchased another i-securities bond for year 2023, as allowed by the ***** My account was later blocked in May,2023 and I spent hours on the phone contacting them after sending via certified **** email the notarized trust information requested in June 2023. They advised me it would take initially 20 weeks to re-open my on line account access. After 22 weeks, I re-contacted them again via phone and they advised me it may take six months to re-establish my on line access to my account. After six months , my account still remained inaccessible. I re-contacted them again in December 2023 and sent them via Certified **** , signature required , a required form on their internet site to cancel my account and refund the tow purchases with interest accrued via direct deposit to my bank on file. The TreasuryDIrect of ********* withdrew my initial two purchases for a total of $20,000 since December of 2022. I finally did receive an email last week from TresuryDirect.com stating they received my refund request and processing it may take up to 4 weeks. Hence, I have not been permitted access to my account since May of 2023 There excuses and delay tactics are not acceptable . At present, I would not encourage anyone reading this complaint to purchase any i-securities bonds from this government agency representative due to their lack of customer service response and delay in account access. The other recent complaints issued at BBB of ********* support my present complaint.

Treasury Direct makes it almost impossible (or in my case, actually impossible) to edit my account information. I recently changed my checking account at the bank I used to sign up with Treasury. That is, I changed from checking account to a different checking account, at the same bank. In order to update this info with Treasury requires paper forms signed and stamped by my bank, which I have completed. Problem: Treasury requires either a Signature Guarantee or a Medallion stamp to complete the form -- my bank ************* of the ******** has neither, although an officer of the bank did sign and stamp the form. Thusly, Treasury refuses to change the updated account information and has effectively denied me access to my bond...forever. It is insane, feels like thievery. There is ZERO customer service. I've sent several emails, no response. Trying to call is worse. Today is December 15, 2023. I started the process to edit my account information in early September 2023. Part of me is floored that an institution like the Treasury is permitted to behave like this, it's genuinely insane. If I can sign up online with an account, go through their multi-factor authentication steps, why can't I edit my information? Why is a signed, stamped letter from my bank insufficient to simply change the checking account information with Treasury?? Why are they allowed to invent a system that steals the investors money? This ought to be impermissible, criminal. As I've sent in the forms, I don't have them available as supporting documents, but please contact me and I will do whatever it takes to supply whatever you need!

I bought some bonds with Treasury Direct. Long story short, I was locked out of my account due to not answering just 1 out of 3 questions. They cannot unlock my account for me and now I would like to pull out my money, but there is no way to do it. I am wondering if this company is a scam.

I opened a TDA account in December 2021. I received a confirmation email stating my account was open with account information. Less than 24 hours later, I received an email stating my account was locked and I needed to verify my identity with a specific form and authorized signature and stamp from my banking institution. I filled out the form and had it notarized and stamped as requested by my bank manager verifying my identity. I sent it to Treasury Retail services that same day Certified Mail Return Receipt. Two months went by, and during those two months I sent Affidavits verifying all I had submitted, requesting my account be unlocked. A month after multiple phone calls and Affidavits of verification, I received a very unprofessionally written letter stating that they would not unlock my account with all sorts of unwarranted accusations, when no transactions had been made, attempted or completed... again, the account was open less than 24 hrs. I believe there is fraud occurring within this department. An audit may be necessary. The letter was not signed nor was there any person listed on the letter. They also threatened me in the letter to never contact them again as I wouldn't be heard or acknowledged. They are breaking the law and preventing me, the account owner, from conducting business within my own account. This is outright fraud, a violation of my rights US Code 18 sect 241 &242 under color of law as well as a ***** Act violation and needs to be addressed immediately.
