I am having issues right now as what the comments are below. Wow! I have a book to write and wish I had checked them out . But surprisingly they were recommended by CMS moving who weren't any better. They lie. I have had my mother's collectibles broken, now have broken my Mother's memories, so far my Sons ashes can't be found, I am currently living a nightmare. I have been left with all my boxes piled to the ceiling, in a 2 car garage. My furniture is everywhere nicked, scratched, a curio hutch with 2 legs broken off leaning against boxes of fragile China. They did not listen to me , so they even took everything laying loose and threw it in boxes. A checkbook, my jewelry was thrown everywhere, and were in a jewelry cabinet, I found some laying on the floor we just moved from, my disabled husband has 2 pairs of jeans that I went out to buy because none of his have been found. I can go on with more only moved a week ago Friday, and everything I touch is clean clothes that they packed with a full trash bucket from the bathroom, food was packed after I said no, why would you pack my food, but they did with cleaning chemicals packed with my food. I have not emptied very much at all, and they left me with my Husband who is a 74 yr old disabled vet with no jeans, his checkbook isn't found, he certainly can't help me, and I am very much more upset with not finding my Sons ashes. Who does this stuff? I was told I was living in an unhealthy environment and that everyone wanted to condemn my house and throw me out. Who are they to judge? But I could be turned in now since that is how they left me in my new house. Clorox packed with my food, as well as Heet, and other cleaning stuff. Please beware of all the movers. All I want is my Sons ashes to be found. I will handle the other issues in a professional environment very soon. They can not be getting away with stupidity, rudeness and the ***** I spent.Review from Sarah R

Movers showed up 1.5 hours late despite having confirmed a start time with me prior. Senior moving consultant who scheduled appointment said he would get back to me when he started work that day, he did not. I had to reach out the following week to again voice my frustration. The consultant offered up the *** to call me which I said I would appreciate it. I did not hear from the ***. For all of the stress that goes along with moving already, this is not a vendor that made the process any easier on me. For the price that was paid and the communication received, I would not call this company again or refer them to a friend for a move.Review from Cindy K

We used this company in 2021 and they were wonderful, so when we needed to move our mother from her 2-bedroom condo to assisted living, they were the first and only company we called. We were moving approximately 25 boxes, a few small furniture pieces and the distance was 1 1/2 miles. We got the estimate and we were pleased. Long story short, the movers were polite and nice, but the estimate went up by almost $400, reason being that the movers had to walk down a hall to the elevator and then had to "share" the elevator with other assisted living residents. When the estimate was given, the lady giving the estimate knew the movers were going from a condo (which meant a hallway to walk) to another 3rd floor residence (again, meaning a hallway to walk down) and she gave the estimate with that in mind. The final price to move our mother was MORE than we were charged in 2021 when we moved from a full 3 bedroom house to another 3 bedroom house that was over 40 miles away. This final price for my mother was all because the movers had to "share" an elevator! This company has become corrupt. "Buyer Beware!"Customer Response

Again, this company will not own up to the fact that they are not a trustworthy company. Comments such as " I did not provide ***** with an estimate for her move" immediately says the company had no intention of complying with the previous owner's quote. "Exhaustive examining"???? I had to keep calling and asking for answers. I also see this company has many complaints since they took over Local Motion. Nope, this company is not ANYTHING like the old company. Once again, Buyer Beware.Review from jade t

**** sent **** an email stating that her $50 deposit had not been refunded and that she was going to report him to the BBB, her credit card company, and write a terrible review. **** called her to explain that her deposit had been refunded 2 days earlier. I listened to the recorded calls between **** and ****, and it was **** that hung up on **** as he was telling her to double check with her bank to see why the refund was not showing up on her end. She was irate that her account was not reflecting the $50. She has not called us back since that time, so I assume she saw the credit reflected in her account.Review from J. M.

I am extremely disappointed in the service of this company. We used them for a move in 2019 and they were wonderful to work with, but this time could NOT have been more different. (move date 11/1/22). The assessment of our belongings and time of move was significantly underestimated, and the team arrived with a smaller truck and without the appropriate boxes for the move. The crew was kind, but inexperienced so everything took much longer than it should have and we had multiple items broken throughout the move. The crew rushed out of the home and left multiple items in our previous home. I immediately followed up and spoke with ******. She assured me she would escalate my concerns but has not answered any phone calls since that day. I continue to call and NO ONE will phone me back. I have submitted multiple claims for my damaged property without any response. I continue to leave messages for different departments as I cannot understand how a business can operate in this fashion. I see the responses Local Motion is leaving on the reviews and feel infuriated at the excuses made. I have been calm and rational in all of my correspondences, but no one will contact us back. I believe my issues/frustrations can resolve is someone would just respond to a call, email or claim submission.Local Motion Response

As I discussed with ***** during our 15 minute recorded call on 11/2/22, she received a 26 foot truck which is the largest one available. This job did not involve packing, so boxes would not be provided. The crew assigned was not new. As discussed with *****, the remodeling going on in her home during the move caused delays due to the lack of space for the crew to maneuver in and out of the home. *****'s husband also had the crew move additional items that were not included in her estimate which also added additional time and cost to the move. A large tv was left behind because it was not boxed and could not be safely moved on the truck. I am not sure why ***** left 2 messages in other departments as she had my direct dial. ***** has submitted only 1 claim for 3 damaged items on 11/10/22. Claims can take up to 90 days to process. If it is determined that *****'s items cannot be repaired, she will receive a cash settlement based on the coverage plan she chose. I have not received any emails from *****. If she would like to further discuss her concerns, she can reach me on my direct dial.Customer Response

It is disappointing to read this response. ******, I have tried your direct dial multiple times and you do not return calls, much like the other comments have shared. I would gladly send you an email- please provide the actual email contact. The lack of accountability in your teams performance is exactly why so many customers are frustrated with this company. You continue to blame the customers who are paying a significant amount of money for a move instead of realizing opportunities for improvement and bettering communication. It is good to know that the three claims I submitted roll into one and will take 90 days to review because NO ONE will respond when I ask that question. It was only when I went to the BBB that I received communication.Review from Clare M.

This was hands down, the very worst moving experience I have ever had. And I lived in a third world country for a few years, so this is really saying something. They showed up three hours late. Half the team wasnt working at any given moment. There were multiple antiques/ heirlooms that were damaged (I am STILL missing the main shelf to an antique hutch). At 1am, there was still 1/3 of our things left in our house, and half the movers went home. The other half gave up and took a full moving truck of our belongings with them with the assurance that they would deliver it (and finish the move!) the following day. The next morning, the truck never showed and management ignored our calls. We considered calling the police since we could not locate the truck and werent sure if/when it would be delivered. They charge our CC over $1000 more than was originally quoted, though we still have no word on the missing truck or the rest of our move. Finally, management calls us 24 hours after the truck goes missing, and immediately begins to berate me for underestimating how many things we had in our home (apparently this is my fault, although I gave him a detailed description of every room in our house, and he was supposed to follow up the week before the move with an in-person walkthrough... which he never did). He interrupts me every time I try to get a word in and eventually hangs up on me. He is sarcastic and unkind. He flat out refuses to finish the move for us.The next morning, two of our original movers show up with our truck, unload it and leave. My husband and his older dad spend the next four days renting a U-Haul in the morning and driving it back and forth throughout the day so our things would be out of the house before the closing date.I strongly encourage you to read ALL reviews and to research this company on BBB before you decide to use them. Please feel free to message me if you would like the long version of this reviewReview from Justin M

They charge for drive time from the last job to your location, my case was about a full hour before they actually showed up. at $82/hr x3 guys that's $250 before they moved anything. I had asked them to come after a specific time, this was confirmed by the scheduling person over the phone. They arrived several hours before the scheduled time. I asked them to come back later but I was told the clock was running and I'd pay for the time they waited. The 3rd mover was not in the quote from **** Apple. He said $160/hr for the guys and the truck, I figured they were a packaged deal. This change was communicated to me in any way until the ****. The 3rd guy said he was "training" the other two. He drove the truck and that's it. Other than that it was just vulger personal phone calls on speakerphone all day. This same guy decided he wanted to drive into an active construction zone to use a loading dock that was blocked off. After the initial loading the truck got stuck in a giant hole. It was 1 hour before they informed me of having truck issues. I returned, after another hour they said they had called a manger, who was driving out with a shovel. Once he arrived it was another several hours of them trying to break up a concrete sidewalk with the shovel. Finally they decided to call a tow truck, which had them on their way quickly. The workers tried their hardest to get unstuck but it took 3.5 hours too long for them to finally call a tow. Finally they completed the move. Only 3 hrs were removed from the **** for them getting stuck, it was at least an hour longer. They did not keep track of their time and insisted on charging me longer than I know they worked. A simple calculation of 7.2 hours + 3 hours they say they were stuck means they would've left after 10PM. They finished around 8:30. Then they struggled to submit the paperwork on the phone for another 1.5 hours, and gave up.Review from B. A.

Hired local motion on 11/20/21. Worst experience ever.1. Movers showed up 4 hours late and told me it was my fault at first. After 30 minutes of me freaking out thinking I messed up moving day, they called me back to tell me it was their drivers that were actually late.2. The movers told me they were late because they were out all night at the bar partying.3. Local Motion doesn't have actual employees, they contract "movers" (read: they don't actually employ the people moving your stuff.) 4. The movers brought in a 3rd mover "for training" and tried to charge me for it even after I told them I'm not paying for a 3rd mover that they invited for training, not because they actually needed the help.5. They took almost 6 hours on top of being 4 hours late to move my one bedroom apartment. I'm not a professional mover but that's a long timeline.6. They didn't pad anything or really wrap anything up so they damaged my walls. I had them bring one piece of furniture downstairs and after that I told them I would handle the rest. I had to call my cousin to come help me move stuff because I wasn't going to have them damage my house any more.7. On top of ALL OF THAT, after I contacted Local Motion to try and figure out what went wrong and if they would do anything in regards to compensation for the terrible experience and they just stopped answering my phone calls specifically from my phone number. I called on my wife's phone and they picked up on the first ring. If it were just one of these things I'd be fine. They moved me, I didn't have to do it myself, and that is the extent of the positive comments I have about this company. AVOID LOCAL MOTION MOVERS AT ALL COSTS, PAY THE EXTRA MONEY, NEVER WORK WITH THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. **** and ************************* (Sales Director and ************* Director respectively) are liars and horrible at customer care. Still waiting on a call back.Local Motion Response

There was some confusion with the scheduling of Mr. *******'s move. It was entered as an afternoon move rather than a morning move. As Mr. ******* noted, after we realized the mistake we called back to update him on the situation. Unfortunately, all of the crews were already out on morning moves, so we could not send him a crew until one became available. Mr. *******'s move took 5 hours and 13 minutes, not 6 hours. He was NOT charged for a 3rd mover. Mr. ******* was understandably upset by the problems that occurred on his move, but any time anyone tried to help resolve his issues, he would scream and yell at them. He was politely asked to refrain from this behavior and he continued on. He called me directly 19 within less than an hour. I had to explain to him that I could not resolve his issues if he continued to call me. He then started calling my sales lines. After telling our Sales Director to "**** off" on our recorded line, his calls were no longer answered. We own up to our mistakes and do what we can to rectify them. However, I will not accept verbal abuse or derogatory statements directed towards my team. Mr. ******* is more than welcome to respectfully reach out to me with any questions or concerns regarding his move.Local Motion Response

It is unfortunate that you continue to make disparaging remarks and call us horrible people, when all I have done is ask you to respectfully reach out to me with your concerns. As you have stated, your desire is to slander our name rather than resolve your issues. As such, thank you for your time.Customer Response

We hired Local Motion for our move on 2/23/22. On the day prior to the move, they charged my CC for more than the quoted amount but said it was just a hold for our move. This was on top of the $50 they charged to reserve the date. The day of the move, the movers showed up late (20 minutes) and then proceeded to take their time. We gave them clear direction on what items needed to be moved starting with the furniture which they ignored and grabbed items which we stated DID NOT need to be moved. And moved at snail pace since one of the movers told us over & over we were quoted for 4 hours. Once they got to our new home we told them where items needed to be which they ignored, left the front door wide open even though we asked multiple times to make sure they pulled it so it was not WIDE open. It should not take 5 hours to move from a 900 sq ft apartment, but they took advantage of the situation. We had moved 10 months prior with more ************** took the guys 2.5 hours which included setting up our furniture and placing things in the correct space. I have contacted our sales person & the billing office multiple times in the last week and a half with zero response. The link that they send you for a copy of the invoice doesn't work which is extremely sketchy to me.Local Motion Response

I spoke with **** on 2/22/22 at and explained the preauthorization hold and deposit on her card. She did not ask any questions about this hold and in fact had to provide me with an updated credit card with enough funds to cover the hold. The preauthorization hold was also detailed in her service agreement that was emailed to her at 5:24pm on 2/17/22. I also explained to her that start times are estimated based on weather, traffic, and the distance from our warehouse, so we give an hour window for the arrival time. It is difficult for a mover to close a door behind them when their hands are full of furniture. Opening and closing the door between every carry also adds additional time to the move. **** sent her sales consultant an email on 2/28/22 at 10:12am asking that billing send her a copy of her invoice. This email was forwarded to me at 10:13am. I called **** at 11:57am to discuss her billing. At that time, she informed me that she could not open her invoice and that she thought that a discount on her move had not been applied. She made no mention of any concerns about the length of time her move took. She also did not make any mention of this in the comment section on her **** of laden in which she signed off acknowledging the time and cost of her move. This complaint is the first time I've been aware that she had issues with her move. I did find that she did not receive her discount and informed her that I was adjusting her **** and would have accounting send her an updated invoice. Her claims of zero response are completely false as can be verified with recorded calls. I also discussed in detail with her the issues she was having with the link in her email. I had her forward it to me and found out that it didn't work because it had expired. We don't control the length of time these stay on ones server, which is why I told her we would send the correct invoice with the refunded amount as an attachment. To see this review is very disheartening after spending so much time trying to resolve this issue with ****.
